Guest Flysmom Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 Fly crossed the Rainbowbridge this morning in my arms. I am numb and somthing inside of me died this morning also. He adopted me on 25 June 2004 in Colorado. I still remember how he danced out of his crate and bounced towards me, put his paws on my shoulders and licked my face. He was always my goofy boy, my friend, my secret keeper, he listenend to my sorrows and joy. Fly loved to chatter and put his head on my chest and he inhaled deep, just like he wanted to breath me in. I remeber the joy I had when we finally finished the fence here in LA and to see and hear him run! I can still see him smile! We had a few adventures - 2 moves, a few espcapes, a Tailectomie, lost of kuddels and kisses and even a few stinkeyes. Fly and I batteled a booboo leg since the beginning of February. We went from sprained muscle, to torn CCL, to Arthritis to finally end up with a poss. Fibrosarcoma diagnosis yesterday. Our last trip took us to Lake Charles to an Orthopedic surgeon. Depending on the outcome of the X-rays they were going to amputate to give my love a chance to be happy and pain free. However, the sarcoma had already destroyed the muscle and tissue needed for the surgery. Dr. Woodward had only 2 options for us, try to keep Fly pain free with a useless, dangeling leg or give him the ultimate gift of love.
