Guest KRKWMU Posted December 6, 2008 Share Posted December 6, 2008 Well, it's been a rough month, but we've made it through. 10 months and still going strong!!! Just recently, Dr. Couto recommended adding back in a chemo medication that Bonnie was on in the beginning (methotrexate). Her lymph nodes were up quite a bit a couple of weeks ago, despite the other two chemo meds and the pred. DH and I really questioned adding the methotrexate again because it messed with her appetite so bad. When she was on it in April, we were actually counting down the days until she was done. This time though, it's only twice a week instead of 3 times. Bonnie has been fine and no trouble at all with eating and her appetite so far! ( ) Everything has healed up from the very scary incident in the house the weekend of Halloween. We are waiting (and probably will be waiting a LONG time) for her hair to grow back in the spots the vets had to shave. Other than that, we are doing well. I guess the situation now is to monitor her lymph nodes to make sure that they do not get much bigger. We are not aiming for a remission anymore, but keeping the lymph nodes stable with no further enlargement. We've only given Bonnie two of the new chemo pills, but we'll continue as long as she is continuing to play and enjoy her self. That's the best we can ask for...a good quality of life for our spunky girl! Thanks so much for everything you guys have done for us and all of the well wishes and prayers.
