My boy's finally home with me. He is getting around so well. He looks kind of freaky too without the whole back leg. They removed his leg and part of his pelvis, OUCH!!! He's sleeping so well and actually ran into the back door after peeing. He hasn't run in 2 months!! I'm so happy to have him back. He's wearing a draining tube and must go back tomorrow for removal. He's so skinny, but starting to eat better. If I can figure how to upload photos into this thing, I'll post some photos. It's a much different amputation from my Rosie's front leg amputation. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We're glad to have him home. :gh_runner:clap:banana

SO pleased to hear he's home :) Keeping him -- and you -- in my thoughts and hoping for a swift, uneventful recovery. :goodluck :goodluck

Welcome home Caesar. Rocky had his back leg amputated that way. I always wanted to put a black G String on him when we went out and people stared at him. Maybe stick a dollar in the waistband. Rocky enjoyed life to the fullest and would have loved it.

You may find that the back leg is a little easier than the front leg---I think people have said that. Winnie had the same leg amputated, and she went up and down 23 steps every day. I'm so glad Caesar is back home, and will be hoping that he heals quickly.

Hang in there, and please let us know how he's doing.

So glad your baby is back home with you, now he will heal in no time at all. And I remember seeing Vinnie run the 1st time after his amp - I swear, I could literally feel my heart swell with pride and love, especially knowing the pain was gone. Oh what a wonderful feeling. Hope the healing goes quickly and without any more incidents. Congrats baby boy, make sure to give mom lots of hugs and kisses, she has been so worried about you. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers and sending hugs and scritches.

It's so nice to see Caesar is home again. It sounds like he is doing very well and once the drain is out he'll feel even better. Hugs to him and all good thoughts going your way as he continues to improve and heal.

That is excellent!!! I hope he continues to heal well and bounds about for many years to come!!!

I just can't believe how 'tough' doggies are.....I would be laid out for many weeks with no leg and part of my pelvis gone. Their spirits are strong and it shows everytime they have to go through such difficult operations. Unbelievable.
