A very critical care case kept the doctor Dr. Patty spoke to from seeing us sooner rather than later. Blitz is being set up with IV fluids, antibiotics, and famotidine, and an injection of metoclopramide. A bunch of bloodwork is being repeated, and pancreatitis has not been ruled out yet. She agrees that an ultrasound is warranted, so that will be done tomorrow. They will also be X-raying his chest to look for megaesophagus (we explained about how he needed to be burped after eating kibble) and repeating the abdominal X-ray to compare to today's. Once they see the bloodwork and the ultrasound, we'll go from there. She said she comes on shift at 3, and I should call her between 3:30 and 4 if no one has called us first. (Of course we can call other times for updates, and visiting hours are 11 am to 9 pm.)
