  1. Saw this on FB, but wanted to post here--- so so sorry for the loss of this girl that I feel I know from all of your wonderful photos over the years many prayers for during this grief
  2. Just thought I would add (late to this thread) that these greys really can be so deeply *moved* by trauma. our grey slipped and fell once in the kitchen... he did not come back into the kitchen for 6 months! He was fed in there, but we had to move his food out of that room and slowly-slowly inch it back in ( the funniest was the week that the food dish was in, around the corner, but he stood in the dining room and stretched around the door jam to reach his bowl.) So I think your attempts to calm the morning down and help him make small steps to being comfortable and un-afraid are the best thing you can do... and it will take time! Best to you
  3. I totally agree with this, and that he might even freak-out more inside a more-solid crate that he can't see out of as well. I'm scared he will really hurt himself trying to escape, and trying to find alternate crates will not help his anxiety/destruction
  4. Sorry for the grief and loss of this obviously very sweet girl
  5. sweet sweet boy so sorry for your loss and grief
  6. Both our greys have done this when their tummies get too empty, and a pre-bed-time snack (1/2 a piece of bread or handful of kibble) seemed to fix it.
  7. Kingsley had one that got quiet large and after a needle-aspirate was determined to be mast cells.... did have it surgically removed (which they closed with Staples-- which just seemed gruesome) If you have a doggie-ophthalmologist you could visit, that was who did our surgery (our regular vet did the needle-aspirate herself since he was so calm)
  8. If she does not have a UTI or an incontinence issue I will say that our first grey wanted to go out in the middle of the night, just cause that had been his schedule.. so we had to wean him out of getting up at 2am. Once we knew he really didn't *have* to go, we could ignore him and teach him to wait until morning...which he did learn quite quickly-- like within a week or so, if I recall correctly.

  13. Oh, I am so sorry for this loss and grief
  14. We did the same, "catch them lying down and say 'lie-down'" which worked for our two. Neither sits. We taught Ruby, "crate" the same way and she very dutifully will go into her crate with that simple command.
  15. so very sorry for this grief and loss
  16. I wonder does he just howl as he hears you coming home? So he's not making intermittent noise all day, but just in excitement of your arrival? I know our Ruby "talks" as she hears our car come in the drive.

  21. Yep-- we had to wean our first boy off of a perceived need to be up at 3. This step-wise idea is a good one
  22. Do you have an evet you could call and discuss what he is doing? Sorry no one else has commented I doubt it is heat stroke from a walk last night, but have no experience with seizures
  23. So sorry for this loss of such a beautiful girl prayers to you
  24. Are her bad days AFTER a noisy event he day before? our Kingsley was scared by noises and he would be a wreak for up-to a week after a scary incident... so maybe her off-days are following a scary day?
