  1. I use that pill popper on my kitty Neko, it's great for him. I've never tried it on any of the puppers. I would think it would work. For the pups I always put it in something yummy. If that doesn't work I think the glove idea is your best bet. I buy the non-latex gloves at Target for handling Neko's meds (he's on chemo) and also for cleaning his litter box. They are also handy for cleaning any pet accidents.
  2. Sending lots of prayers and good thoughts your way!
  3. Hello from Oshkosh! You have a very handsome boy.
  4. As a quick fix try papaya tablets, you can get them at a health food store or GNC. They worked really well with Gypsy, she could bring tears to your eyes when we first got her. Give two to three tablets, we put with her breakfast. Some dogs will eat as a treat.
  5. Thank you all, I will pass on all the information to her foster mom.
  6. With the search option not working I am unable to look for info. I was trying to find info on the honey used in wound treatment. One of our fosters had a tumor removed from her hind leg. The wound is too large to stitch closed and will have to heal from the inside out. I was wondering if the honey would help with this or if anyone has any other suggestions. Here is the info I received: They could not close the wound due to the amount of tension on the skin. It will have to heal from the inside out (granulation.) They debrided more of the borders and put in anchor sutures around the perimeter. They packed the 4" diameter by 1/4" deep hole with sterile gauze and covered it with a piece of surgical sheet. They ran a tubular gauze zigzag through the anchor sutures to hold the packing in place. I have to remove the packing twice a day and re-pack the hole. That causes immense pain. It will take 2 of us each time. This will take months to heal. Poor puppy:
  7. This is all I could find: Because coccidia is spread by the feces of carrier animals, it is very important to practice strict sanitation. All fecal material should be removed. Housing needs to be such that food and water cannot become contaminated with feces. Clean water should be provided at all times. Most disinfectants do not work well against coccidia; incineration of the feces, and steam cleaning, immersion in boiling water, or a 10% ammonia solution are the best methods to kill coccidia. Coccidia can withstand freezing.
  8. So glad to hear Bones is doing so well! Have you tried giving Bones some Vanilla Ensure. If he's not eating this maybe enticing to him and has good vitamins. Also with Clark hand feeding McDonalds hamburgers works great, or raw ground chicken.
  9. A soak in Epsom salts wouldn't hurt either.
  10. Thank You so much! Wonderful information to have.
  11. Have a safe trip! I'm guessing 410.
  12. Taste of the Wild kibble (buffalo and venison) Natures Variety raw medallions Various treats, we try to buy organic varieties but we also do Milk Bone Treats and Pedigree Breath Savers.
  13. My Vet doesn't charge for any follow up visits.
  14. We use Revolution, tried Sentinel, Clark wouldn't eat the tablets even with cream cheese on them. Dreamy and Gypsy would only take them with cream cheese. We are back to Revolution much easier. There are others in our group that use it also.
  15. Will be keeping Flashy in my prayers today.
  16. Poor Bueller! Hope everything goes well at the vet today and that the bleeding stops.
  17. I thought it looked heart shaped also! Poor pupper, hope he heals quickly!
  18. Healing thoughts for Orion. This is why I stopped taking Clark to indoor Meet-N-Greets. He has done the splits several times on the floors at PetCo. The girls are fine there, just my big baby has issues.
  19. Keeping your Gypsy in my thoughts. My Gypsy sends a good luck kiss.
  20. Poor puppy! Gypsy just had a dental last week and lost 14 teeth. She is eating canned food right now. We will wait a few weeks before we try kibble.
  21. Gypsy is still very swollen, but it is going down. Her spirits are good she trots out into the yard. She wagged her tail at the neighbors little girl. Here's a picture of my poor baby girl:
  22. Cream cheese finally stopped working with Clark. The only sure thing for him is raw ground chicken or turkey. He never notices the pill.
