  1. No news on Ria. I'm sure that means she's still holding on. Our Vet is closed on Sunday so I'm not sure if Robyn will be able to visit her today. I'm sure on Monday after work she will, and then I'll get an update. Thank you to all who are praying for Ria I'm sure it's helping. Edited because I can't type this morning.
  2. Heard from Robyn......Ria is not doing so good. Please pray for this sweet girl. Ria remains in critical condition. The platelet destruction has subsided, but her body continues to destroy her red blood cells. She is profoundly jaundiced and her legs are so swollen that the fluid is dripping out of her skin. Strider gallantly donated a pint of blood last night and Ria finished it while I was there tonight. Not sure if her body will use or destroy it. Dr. Jeff gives her a 50/50 chance of survival if we can support her while we wait for Immidocarb and another immunosuppresant to take hold. She is now on 5 meds. including a diuretic for the fluid build up. She is not eating well, but continues to drink. I spent 3 hours last night just sitting in her kennel petting her and praying. Tonight my physical therapist friend came to the vet. and we kicked around ideas for some type of compression stockings for her legs. Gail is going to try to find something we can use. Wish I had better news. The light at the end of that tunnel grew dim again.
  3. Have you tried Vanila Ensure? Some dogs love it and it has extra nutients. When Clark had his dental troubles the only thing he really ate well was raw ground chicken. Saying lots of prayersfor your sweet girl.
  4. Thank you for your replys! I have sent them on to Ria's Mom. She says Ria was doing better tonight.
  5. Does anyone anyone know exactly what strains of each disease Protatek lab tests for? Is there a better Lab to send to? A friend has a very sick greyhound and is wondering. She plans on getting all her dogs tested, her sick girl Ria has tested positive for ehrlichia. Ria is on 3 IVs she is being treated with doxy, they started that before her test results were known. Ria passed in her sleep last night. Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts.
  6. I'm so sorry about Freddie Try some ground raw chicken. That's one of the few things Clark would eat when he was having all his dental troubles. Our kitty Neko has cancer and is on chemo(every 14 days), he gets prednisOLone every other day and famotidine everyday. He has days where he hardly eats (not even tuna or salmon) then days where he will eat eveything you give him. Our vet says give him whatever he will eat.
  7. Clark is 10 and loves running with Dreamy our 3 year old. Gypsy (also 10) only runs when the weather is right and the planets in correct alignment she's a diva . When we first got Dreamy I would let Clark and Gypsy out first to do their business, bring them in. Then let Dreamy out to do hers and run a bit. After she gets the friskiness out I would let Clark out to play with her. He seems to know when to quit and will come stand by me when he's done.
  8. Prayers for Freddie. Sounds like he will be in greyt hands.
  9. PM your email, I have it on my home computer so I will send it to you when I get home. Being naughty and sneaking on at work right now.
  10. Sounds similar to what Clark had (although it had nothing to do with processing food). He was diagnosed with immune mediated punctate keratitis. The vet used a camera and took a picture of his eye through the scope, Clark's eye looked like a field of stars, so many pin point spots . Long road to recovery, but he is fine now. If you want I still have the report from the opthomologist I can send you a copy. He was treated with Cyclosporine 0.2% 3.5Gm Ophth Ointment. Hope your baby is feeling better.
  11. If it was only one slice I don't think you will have a problem. Shouldn't be enough caffene or chocolate to warrent a visit to the EVet. The plastic disc sounds small enough to pass through. You could give each a slice of bread to help with any sharp edges.
  12. I'm so glad to hear Rusty is improving!!!
  13. Yikes what a horrible ordeal!! Saying prayers for a quick and uneventful recovery!!
  14. Hopefully this morning she just drank too much water too fast! I know if we don't watch her Dreamy will do this then go out to the livingroom and bring it back up (on the carpet of course ). It may take a few days for Skittle's stomach to get back to normal. Perhaps small meals several times a day may be easier on her.
  15. Poor Skittle! Clark gypsy and Dreamy send her a Hope you can find a better option that quote does seem awfully high.
  16. Finally!! Clark is healing!!. The gums did not open up this time. He isn't completely healed, but it looks good. He is still on soft foods for another week. Poor boy has lost 4lbs during this. He has always been on the thin side. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed for another week. He goes back to see Dr Jeff on Monday June 4th. Poor Dr Jeff said he had a nightmare about Clark.
  17. Such a beautiful girl! Will be saying special prayers for her.
  18. Sorry to hear you and your puppers are having such a rough time. Will be saying prayers for you.
