You can order the enzymes ( pork pancreas) for much less than from a vet from a member. She buys in bulk from American Labs & sells in different amounts. At first this is scary because many vets do not know much about how to treat animals who have the problem, it was first thought to be a GSD problem but we have a lot of different breeds on the list. TX A & M did the first break thru on how to treat it as well as SIBO, which seems to go along with a lot of EPI & vets all over can do free consults with the gastro vets at A & M. When my DD had a seizure dog, several dogs tried to attack her while my SIL was home & he got Sky crated & then called me so I would know the check on her later. When I went to their house she'd had another seizure & some one ripped her ear thru the crate. One afternoon Sky seized out in the yard & several dogs started to attack her so I turned the hose on them, also used it to cool her tummy. Noelle is crated when I leave just to be safe, she sleeps on my bed with me & my old broodie sleeps in the bedroom with us where she just watches over Noelle. I have a very high prey girl that sleeps crated as I know she would attack other wise. Both Laura & I have had other breeds of dogs with seizure problems, it is not just greys that will attack, Laura had a poodle that always tried to attack their lab/pointer.

Same as Dean said, the grey farms around here use Ivomec. You only need to be sure to get plain version for cattle, there is a version that is also used for swine has other meds in it that the dogs can't have. I've used it since the 90s with no problems & my vet is ok with it too.

My son just called me to say he is facing the same hard fact with his boy. Buster is 13, would be 14 in Oct, but he's had 2 strokes so Mark will be saying good bye too. This is never easy so hugs to you & Bijou as well as to Mark & Buster.

What a handsome addition at the bridge! Sorry you had to set him free.

I've lost 2 dogs to brain tumors & it isn't a good way to go. Surgery wasn't consider for either boy. My first boy turn on me & bit my arm badly, this from a very loving "Momma's" boy. The second climbed into a crate & had a hard time breathing so I told him he could run to the bridge & find his best buds so in less than ten minutes he did. It is a terrible way to go, my thoughts are with you.

Have your vet do a free consult call to Tx A&M gastrology dept for good information on SIBO.. The B12 must have intrinsic factor added to help the dog. You can order the pills from Wonderlabs.
