He sounds like he was as sweet as his name!
  3. :confetti What a relief! Valley Fever can be very serious, but it *is* treatable, and it would explain the spots? shadows? whatever on the lungs. Poor girl has been through so much, let's hope this is the start of her complete recovery!
  4. I am glad to see Shirley is still with you! what a sweet face
  5. *If* he is getting arthritis at such an early age, it could put his hips out of whack. I hope that's all it is, and the spot on the leg is nothing! :candle
  6. since his VF came back negative, and he seems to be doing better, I agree with holding off on the pred. You can always start it if he backslides. I would also look into acupuncture for him. Sugar had a lot of back end problems last fall. The pred (and pain meds) helped short term, but the acupuncture kept her "fixed". Around Thanksgiving, I really thought was going to lose her. By the beginning of this year, she was walking normally, even running a bit in the back yard (she was 12.5 after all ), and eating well, until the end.
  7. poor Beau! I hope it is a simple fix. can they do arthroscopic (sp?) surgery on dogs?
  8. I'll second that huh? whatever, for both!
  9. Can you put down some small non-slip rugs along her usual "paths" so she feels more secure in her footing? Doesn't address the cause, I know, but might help her to not panic. Are you giving her something like pepcid? If her tummy is upset, that might help for you and Happy
  10. now that the surgery is over, hoping for a successful recovery!
  11. I am so, so sorry! I will keep hoping they are wrong
  12. to Merlin (and you!) I would give him a pepcid with his antibiotics, that will help if his tummy is upset. I hope he starts to feel better and eat soon. The same thing happened to Fletcher a few years ago, except the other dog was a half-grown Shar Pei, and Fletcher wasn't hurt. We were very lucky the dog wasn't an adult. I still remember how shaken I was. Hardly surprising he isn't good with other breeds after that!
  13. eeewww, poor baby! glad her tail and tummy are both looking better hope you get the results soon.
  14. :candle something else something else something else
  15. I was hoping you were imagining things If it is kidney, think, early stages, early stages! My Richard (cat, not dog, but still) lived for three and half years after his kidney disease diagnosis, and he was *not* early stages. :candle :candle
  16. he sounds like my "nephew" cat Pooh-kitty.
