  1. I feed Fletcher raw almost all the time because of his IBD. He can only handle a kibble meal a couple of times a week. For financial reasons, I feed the girls kibble in the morning and raw at night with no problems. For traveling, I think most people use the commercial frozen raw stuff, but I haven't traveled much, so I'll let others say what they do
  2. good news! it's just an infection and they have found the right AB
  3. you must just be I hope once your vet consults with Dr C, they will have a plan
  4. You say "go with the glucosamine again", did you stop giving it when his limp stopped before? At 11, he should probably stay on it, I give it to all my older dogs. He may also need some pain relief, too. Fletcher gets a Traumeel (homeopathic) tablet twice a day, so far it has kept his arthritis pain under control.
  5. I know how hard it is to loose two close together
  6. She is such a beautiful girl, love that white face I am so sorry this time has come. You were lucky to have those 7 months, but I know that seems like nothing right now
  7. I am so glad you found a good vet you like. That is so important, especially in a confusing case like this. A much more cautiously optimistic outlook! This is an extreme long shot since you are in CT, but is there any chance she was ever in AZ or CA? I am thinking of Valley Fever, of course, which often looks similar to osteo on the bone.
  8. I am so sorry, this must be so hard for you
  9. Glad you finally have an answer, and it is something you can treat. Don't really understand why your vet was reluctent to test for Cushings
  10. One of the things mine do as a group, if it is around the time we usually go for our walk, anywhere I go, I am surrounded, make that closely surrounded by dogs, and someone is always stepping on my heels and pulling my shoes off. Do they think I might sneak out the door with out them? The whole point of the walk is to take the dogs, why would I go without them?
  11. In reverse order, newest to oldest (because the newest may develop more quirks later!) Sallie is a very good dog, except she is a major barker. Her professional name was Speak Volumes, and does she ever live up to it Her bark is loud and high pitched, and she has taught Molly to bark Molly (now a barker, see above) is a whiner. A MAJOR whiner. It can be very annoying when she is either whinning for something she is not going to get (and we both know it) or for something that I have no clue what she wants. If she wants anything, and is not just whinning to hear herself whine She is also a Princess, with a stubborn streak a mile wide. Fletcher. Issue Boy. Barks at anyone (including neighbors) who walk down "his" street. Hates non-greyhounds, strange dogs in his 'hood (including some greyhounds) Has the attention span of a dying gnat. Decided a couple of years ago that getting in the shower was not safe for me, so everytime I get in the shower, he tries to stop me I could go on... I love each and everyone of them with all my heart, and most of the time all of the above just makes me laugh
