  1. Fletcher has gotten much more sensitive to heat as he has gotten older (10 in a couple of months), so I might say they get more sensitive to temperature extremes, since heat is more of issue here, but Molly will be 10 in May and she doesn't seem phased by heat or cold
  2. Glad you have an answer, and yes, a foreign object is better than a mass, but still a worry. more
  3. never heard of sterile meningitis, but for Girlie
  4. Glad he is doing better! Fletcher is a double pooper too, but since I got a dog door, it hasn't been an issue
  5. I am so sorry the "not so easy" ones have such a profound effect
  6. No cooked bones! pork or otherwise, but pork meat should be fine. Some dogs find it too rich, so start small. Mine are raw fed, and get (raw) pork a couple of times a month. More often sometimes gives loose poop. edited to add, I have one who will do ANYTHING for a bite of bacon
  7. I've used cream cheese to give pills, but not in that quantity You may see some gas and/or diarrhea, but maybe not. I hope he enjoyed it
  8. I am so sorry loosing two so close together is so hard :brokenheart :f_red
  9. None of my dogs are new, or young! However, Molly has recently decided she wants to share Sallie's bed (sometimes) Sallie is usually ok with this, but Molly the Princess doesn't always respect boundries, so there is occasionally some grumbling. I let them work it out unless it seems to be escalating, then I tell them to "knock it off, be nice", and they do. I direct it at both of them equally, unless I see one (ok, Molly ) being a butthead. Like the time she was trying to lie down in a space that was way too small for her, and nesting , and she stepped on Sallie. Sallie growled and barked, and I went and got Molly and made her move off the bed entirely. If it's just grumbling, I'd let them sort it out.
  10. I am so sorry given how fast his liver values went downhill, it probably was either a very aggressive cancer or a ruptured tumor (or both), not something you could have fixed.
  11. I am so sorry he was gorgeous
  12. My old girl started have back problems at 11.5, and acupuncture was a huge help. After about a month, she was almost back to normal.

I am so sorry, it's hard to loose them so young
  14. Agree with the X-ray/ultrasound, hopefully, they won't find anything! If you can get him on a food he likes and agrees with him, just feed him more of it. Sounds simplistic, but sometimes as they get older, they just don't keep the weight on If he is a food hound maybe 3-4 meals a day will put a few pounds on him.
