  1. How much fun! I have always been envious of her stories where she gets to take her dog with her everywhere. And such a handsome boy
  2. He is adorable! I think he will keep you on your toes Welcome NoAh!
  3. Happy Birthday Logan 13 is a great achievement!
  4. Oh Buddy, you have to be more careful It could be his eyesight, although the hole wasn’t moving was it? Or it could be quirky greyhound behavior, I swear one of mine would have walked into a hole while watching a butterfly float by I hope he didn’t add to his wounds
  5. Oh no, poor Buddy! I myownself have face planted (tripped over a greyhound, what else) and I know it is painful and embarrassing. I am glad you are feeling spunky, but try to tone it down a bit, even though your mom gave you some awesome bandages and covers
  6. How old is Finn now? Is this new behavior? While it is true that many greyhounds love their walks, even when they get old and infirm, sometimes, as they get older, they decide that walking is overrated . If he seems fine otherwise and he doesn’t have to be walked for potty breaks, I would let him decide whether to go or not. It actually sounds like a combination of things. Like something spooked him, probably something so weird or minor (to you) that he connects with morning walks on certain days, and since walking was becoming less of a priority for him, he decided, nope, not this time. As I am sure you know, they can have strange, quirky thought processes, that’s one of the reasons I love them
  7. The hard barrier I had was like LBass’s except it attached to the floor and ceiling with suction cups, if that makes sense. The mesh barrier was like MersyGrey’s but a different brand. I got both from either Amazon or Chewy (it’s been awhile ).
  8. I had a metal barrier in my Element because Fletcher wanted to drive Later, with the minivan, I just had a mesh type barrier. The dogs could have pushed through but the idea of a barrier was enough.
  9. I have always stopped vaccines for my seniors, even rabies since by their teens they have immunity if they have been regularly vaccinated throughout their lives. AZ doesn’t accept titers but my vet (who supports stopping the vaccines) writes a letter to have on file with the county. I *think* this means if my dog was exposed he could be quarantined at home, but it never came up. All that said there really isn’t any reason not to do necessary vaccines on a healthy senior. Likewise for dentals, I would address any issues, but probably skip a routine cleaning. When Conner needed a dental at 12.5 I took him to a specialty vet and he had his own anesthesiologist. Expensive, but worth it! Blood work and a good physical exam should do it unless there are any specific issues you are concerned about. Congratulation on Logan reaching a milestone
