  1. Take him to the vet just in case he's eaten something he shouldn't have. I'd also switch him back to his previous diet. It sounds like something in the raw diet isn't agreeing with him.
  2. The vet hulled one of Grace's corns when I first got her and as it was done during one of her 3 monthly check-ups she didn't charge me. Unfortunately Grace is one of those greyhounds that suffers with multiple corns. I have tried various remedies including having the vet surgically removing one while she was having some pieces of grit removed that had caused an abscess between her toes. It came back after a few months. I now manage her corns by taking her to the park in the car so she can walk on the soft grass. The grass softens the corns especially if it's wet and after a few weeks they often drop out but unfortunately they do reappear but not as bad. If she has to walk on hard surfaces I put a towelling baby sock over her foot and then a dog boot.
  3. Grace has very expressive ears that seem to move independently of each other. She'll often get up from her bed with one of them inside out which is followed by a quick bout of head shaking to correct it causing a few droplets spittle to fly across the room often landing on the TV screen
  4. Have you tried one of the online vets? You could ask your pet insurance if they provide this service but if she's going for up to 16 hours between doses without being in pain I would think she's getting over whatever was causing it.
  5. Handsomely different. It could explain why he's drinking so much water, part greyhound part seal
  6. While shopping I decided to buy Grace to her first hide knotted bone as a treat this weekend. She was lying on her bed/my sofa when I got back so with due reverence I placed this highly prized treat in front of her, apprehensive as to whether I would be able to take it off her if the need arose. She took a quick sniff and a tentative lick before.... ...laying back down again totally ignoring it. Ah well. The dog across the road will benefit from her rejection
  7. You are good students and learn quickly. Hopefully teacher Skelly will give you 10 out of 10
  8. Grace's kibble is still the same price at the moment She either has the kibble from The Greyhound Trust at £40 for two 15kg sacks delivered free or Gain Greyhound Maintenance from Millbry Hill at £32.99 for two 15kg sacks for including £6.99 shipping.
  9. If Grace is getting bored with her kibble I put a whole chicken in the slow cooker with nothing else and cook it until it's falling off the bone. I freeze the liquid in ice cube trays and add one to her food bowl melted with a little hot water before mixing with the kibble. The meat either gets eaten by me or cut into small chunks and frozen spread out on a tray before putting into a container in the freezer to be added to her food or given as a frozen treat.
  10. What a handsome young greyhound. He looks bright eyed, alert and ready for causing mayhem so his diet can't be too bad but I agree he does look a little thin even for a greyhound. Hopefully others who have experience with greyhound pups will be more helpful.
  11. If he's moving and behaving normally, eating and drinking the correct amount of food and water and his stools are normal, and as you say the vet can't find anything wrong, just accept that is who he is. A cute bundle of fun He might have a sudden growth spurt like children do.
  12. I haven't any experience of a dog not wanting to get into a car but Grace really doesn't like going to the vets, but if I walk confidently into the surgery without giving her the choice of backing out she'll begrudgingly go in. Remember dogs pick up on how you react to situations so you and your husband need to remain calm and confident. Also be careful not to reward her fear but give her a reward when she takes a step towards the vehicle either with a treat or praise whichever works for her. It could be the smell of the vehicle that's putting her off. Open the windows for a few minutes before hand and then put her bedding on the seat so it smells familiar.
  13. I don't need a sign for that. We've had so much rain recently that I have plenty of paw prints already
  14. I can imagine Buddy sitting on the sofa with a white cat "So MerseyGrey I expect you to return immediately and bring me my rabbit ears"
  15. A couple of random thoughts. Is the water at your parents different to yours? Has yours got an additive in it that is making him thirsty? Do you have a dehumidifier that is drying out the air in your flat?
  16. Happy New Year Only 649 days since the UK first locked down
  17. I'm glad you've found a workable solution to keeping him out of the kitchen. As his confidence grows I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually stops using that doggie mattress and stays on one of the other beds. Tail Wagging - Grace isn't a great tail wagger either. She'll wag it when walkies are mentioned but stops when I reach down to put her lead on and her teeth chatter away in happiness. Prey Drive - Sounds like Grace. Very low prey drive until the squirrel, rabbit, small furry animal runs. If they stay still and stare her out she'll back off. Sleeping - Having the tongue hanging out of the side of the mouth is usual. Rich Skipworth's (look up his greyhound glossary) definition. DERP: The facial expression of a Greyhound that seems to imply complete and utter spaced-out empty-headed weirdness. Usually accompanied by a lolling tongue. Sorry I can't answer the question about zoomies or the missing ear tag codes.
  18. Grace has already signed up for that treatment
  19. Grace even with soft lined collars tends to loose fur where they rub if left on all the time so when she's in the house she doesn't wear any. If you are after a medicated shampoo I recommend ExmaRid Deep Cleansing dog shampoo which to helped get rid of Grace's dandruff when she came home from the adoption agency.
  20. I do wonder about the sanity of Grace. We came back from our walk this morning and although the air temperature was just below freezing Grace decided to lie down on the frosty grass.
  21. Grace has periods when she tries and fumigates all and sundry with an SBD (Silent But Deadly) and unfortunately she seems to save her most pungent emissions when visiting friends especially in the evenings. I think she gets over excited. I have thought about putting something in her food bowl to slow her eating down so she doesn't gulp down to much air but haven't got round to it yet.
  22. Grace also went through a stage of not wanting to get up from her bed for the evening comfort break, but after putting her lead on and giving it a quick tug she decided that the game was up. Now if she's being stubborn I only have to pick her lead up and walk towards her. She also gets a biscuit when she comes back in
  23. Keep an eye on them and as soon as they show any inclination to start digging a stern NO which could also be followed by throwing their toy or calling them over for a treat to distract them. Could you provide them with a sandpit in a corner out of the way of their usual racetrack so they have softer ground to dig?
  24. Grace does it while she's eating and lifts her head away from the bowl dropping half chewed food over the floor
