  1. I woke to the gentle patter of rain instead of a whining Doolin, and thought to myself, "Oh, maybe he's finally learning to sleep in a little bit..." and then I realize that's not rain... Good thing he's cute. Belly band goes back on tonight.
  2. I'm so sorry. Sending hugs to you and gentle scritches to your Sherlock. I was in the two-cancer boat with Sweep this past year, and it is indeed a horrible blow. She was almost 11.5 when she broke her leg, but we opted for amp and chemo and she did well. We let her go in late May at 12.7 years old. There is no judgment here about which treatment route you take; you know your dog and your situation best. It is a hard road no matter what, and you will make the most loving decision for your boy. I hope the consult with the oncologist goes well. Please keep us posted.
  3. Oh, Jan, I'm so sorry your Val had to leave. I know you gave her the best life and so much love. Please take care of yourself; you'll be in my thoughts. Rest well, Val. I am sure you're having quite a party with Conner and Rocket and countless other friends.
  4. Happy hour is the best medicine! (That's the saying, right?) Great job keeping up with your frens, Tessie!
  5. Sweet x2! I'll just leave this here... Nutella blondies
  6. Excellent stalking, Wiki! I hope those wily burgers didn't get away.
  7. Thanks for sharing! Ducky, try clearing your cache or using a different browser. You should get 3 free articles per month.
  8. Milo I'm sure you still cut a fearsome figure to all the neighborhood critters!
  9. How sad for Zoey's mom and dad, but I am so glad you were there for support, as hard as that must have been. You are a wonderful neighbor. Condolences to everyone who knew and loved Zoey. She sounds like a lovely dog. I am sure Rocket and Petunia were thrilled to see their friend again. Extra French fries for all at the Bridge tonight!
  10. Just chiming in to say in 9 years with Sweep and a velvet tag collar and the 2Hounds harness, no issues with velvet irritating her skin. So far, so good with Doolin and his velvet tag collar and martingale (but we're only 3 weeks in). Every dog is different though!
  11. $150 in the past year. I hope everything is ok with your boys.
  12. for negative results for Mark, LaVida, and Wiki next week! I'm picking up the dewormer on Monday; I didn't ask what it would be. Grassmere is usually up to speed on the latest with as many greyhounds as they see, but I got the impression we're going to start simple and go from there. Doolin had the ProHeart 6 shot in May when he came off the track, so I wonder what, if any, effect that will have on his treatment.
  13. Welp, now I know what I am in for. Doolin had his first check-up at our vet last week and he has hooks (3+). His poop has been so perfect I'd hoped we'd escaped.
