  1. The people with easy hounds don't post that much Otherwise I could be here every hour and report on yet another hour of perfect behavior, and one of them is pretty new and still learning the ropes. I've had other breeds, and to me Greyhounds are easier and faster learners, we had just a few "if there is food involved it must be mine" incidents, just a couple of reminders and she gets it. Oh, and then today we had a very funny "let me run in from the yard and jump on the couch and flat out on top of mommy" episode, we shall work on that
  2. Hmm tough one.....this could be a lot of extra stress just when you don't need it. My DD has a little dog, I crate my dogs when she comes over, they are reasonably fine with small dogs, but not one that will get in their faces, not respect a dog on his bed, etc. They just get annoyed.....DD has in the past agreed to dog sit for me when I was out of town, at night she had her dog in the bed room with her, door closed, and my dogs, according to her, started whining and howling. They don't ever do that normally, even though they may or may not sleep in the room with me, but they wanted to be where the little dog was. She finally gave up and went home, visiting my dogs several times a day instead, she could not sleep..... So, if your mom brings her dog and you have lots of whining and/or howling going on, would she be willing to board it at a place close to you? Or are you going to be stuck for a few weeks with that racket? Could she maybe hire a dog sitter instead? When I go out of town and neither of my kids can dog sit, I get someone to stay with them from 5pm to 9am, of course for a few weeks that can get costly, maybe you can offer to help pay for that?

  4. I am so sorry for your loss, what a sweet face she had
  5. Vitamin E is NOT safe to put near the eyes, at least the bottle I have says so, but there is a cream made for dry eyes that would be fine to use, the name is Refresh PM and you will find it in the eye drop aisle.

    My Seany Is Gone

I am so very sorry for your loss of Seany
  10. I am so very sorry for your loss of Maggie, it is always so hard when we have to let them go, it's different for everyone. And with some it seems to hit us harder than others, allow yourself time to grieve, and after a while it will seem maybe less enormous. Maggie had a good life with you, and to her, that was the important part.
  11. If they did well on TOTW I would switch them back, TOTW 30# bag runs $42.00, Chicken Soup 35# at $34.00, I don't see the big difference. But vet visits and meds would probably go down, more than likely you come out ahead?
  12. What the heck, you might as well get two now, you will have two or more before long anyway
  13. I am so very sorry for your loss! What a beautiful spunky girl she was, thanks for catering to her

  15. Thanks for the recommendation. With this harness, what size did you go with and how adjustable was the fit? I got the medium for Darla, she was 56 pounds, and it is very adjustable, it really helped a lot, I could lift her like a suitcase and help her with stairs and in and out of the car. Without this harness I don't think I could have gotten her to the vet on my own, I always said these dogs needs handles, well this is kind of like having a handle. Sorry, I can't give hers up, sentimental fool that I am.....
