  8. When I am visiting my parents with my hounds, my Luna prefers to eat on her pillow in a back bedroom rather than in the kitchen with Nova. She would pick up her whole bowl and carry it across the entire house to that pillow. We finally got the hint, and just started feeding her there. She does eat in the kitchen at my own house. We figured it was just another one of her goofball quirks.
  9. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy.
  10. Sending good thoughts for your Larry! I can totally relate. I sent my girls in for dentals for the first time a couple of weeks ago. While the day was stressful for me, the results were great, and I am so glad I had it done.

  17. Thank you all for the well wishes! We are all back home again after a loooong day (including two stints through Nashville rush-hour traffic). Both hounds did great, and their teeth look beautiful! They're snoozing pretty heavily right now, as is expected. Rachel, a special thanks to you for your recommendation of Grassmere. I am so happy I went with their clinic. Dr. Brumbelow does the surgeries on Wednesday mornings, and she was wonderful and so kind. Really, the entire staff there made this a very positive experience.
  18. Tomorrow, I'll be driving the two amigas down to Nashville for their dentals. Both Luna and Nova could use a good cleaning, and I think Nova might lose her bottom incisors. I haven't needed to have either of my girls put under anesthesia before, and I am a little nervous. We'll have to leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning, as drop off time at the clinic is 7 am. Hopefully the most difficult part of the day will be getting them out of the house before they have noticed that we skipped breakfast, haha. Good thoughts for smooth procedures are most certainly welcome!
  19. Glad to hear she's much improved this morning!
  20. Your Lizzie sounds truly one in a million. I am so sorry for the loss of your girl.
  21. Poor Sweep! I hope she's soon on the mend. My girls tend to do better on oatmeal than on rice. I overcook it so that it's extra mushy and add boiled chicken or boiled ground chicken/turkey. Do you have any Olewo carrots on hand? If not, and your girl is still having tummy troubles come Wednesday, I'll be in Nashville dropping the girls off at Grassmere for their dentals and could bring some by for you.
  22. Sending good thoughts to you and your Lizzie!
  23. I am very sorry for your loss. Your tribute for River is so touching, it is clear he is so very loved.
