  1. I saw the same thing with salt in peanut butter and frequency of peeing ( outside, no accidents). Organic PB without salt has eliminated that issue and it does not seem that she needs to pee as often or as much!
  2. acupuncture took away my TMJ... any chance that would work in a dog???
  3. I am sorry for your loss. As a lurker in the club, I cried and cried when I read that!! Hugs to your whole family ( doggies included of course!)
  4. He clearly had the most spectacular 66 days with you guys, or wait... you guys had the most spectacular 66 days with him.. I am so sorry and so sad to read this.
  5. Thanks cristar, if you have any success with it, please post about the results. With my oldest having liver issues, I try not to put anything in her body that could be harmful in any way!
  6. I have read that the Petzlife tooth gel and spray has grain alcohol in it. Possibly not good for dogs, especially with compromised livers. Does anyone know if Dentasure oral care spray works, as it does not have any alcohol in it and would be safer. Thanks
  7. Off of Boot and King. We walk at Immaculate College almost every day. You do not have enough posts to private message, my email is nancyknight1345@yahoo.com if you want to talk more.
  8. Just curious if you do not mind, why does your 4 year old dog need fresh factors? I started giving mine some when she had back end weakness and some difficulty going up the stairs. I gave her 2 for awhile, just dropped both in with breakfast- she gobbled them up. I have upped it to 3-4 as she will be 13 soon.
  9. No weight gain at all. On Fresh Factors and Joint Health. Very helpful supplements! Love them!
  10. I have a 180 chewable tablet bottle of Bug Off Garlic from Springtime Inc that my dogs will not eat. I have opened it and there are 3 missing. If you would like it for free, let me know and I will mail it to you. We love their other products, but not this one so much!
  11. Fresh factors and/ or joint health chewables from Springtimeinc.com. Has really helped my soon to be 13 yr old little girl with improved back end strength, getting up and going up stairs. More zip in her step in general.
  12. Been there, done that! Slow down, patience.... My Shana would not go down the driveway, would not walk away from the house to the side street. It is not necessarily a lack of YOUR confidence. It is what it is for now. She did like getting in the car, so to this day ( 11 years later) we ALWAYS drive somewhere to walk. There was many a day that we got in the car, went somewhere "safe" ( i- no kids, school buses, cars making a lot of noise, no soccer games in a field near by... ) and she would not get out of the car!!!!!! I would try and people would stop and ask me if everything was OK as I tried to get a small black 65 lb dog out of the car for an enjoyable walk!!!!! I used to call my husband who worked nearby and tell him I was stuck mid way through a walk and could not get back to the car because I timed it wrong with the trash collectors and he would come get us !!!!!!!!!! Oh,how I laugh now!!!! It was rough. It was not about my walk or my exercise at that time. It was working with her and making her comfortable. BUT, she now goes on 2-3 walks a day depending on the time of year and weather. If she does not want to go, she does not and we take the others. She still likes early am better then later ( fearful of DUSK!!). Please just breath, slow down. It all comes together but she needs MORE time. I asked myself for the first 6 months what have I done. What I did was get the bestest, sweetest, cutest, most trusting dog and one that is soooo much more confident and braver. There is nothing like seeing these dogs get braver. Did I mention slowing down? We now go to pet stores, greyhound events, we travel with our 3 and Shana is all about it. It took time and a patience I did not know I had. We did do one training technique called touch. When she would statue, we stood a few steps ahead and had a treat in our hand, said "touch" and she would step forward. She got the treat, then it kind of broke her stance and she would walk again. We sometimes push her from her behind a bit so we were not pulling her. It was like we had to break her trance of thinking something scary was there and she would move again. Sometimes it is a matter of going in the direction she wants to go, different from your plan. Keep up the good work, but breath!!!
  13. My shy , spooky girl loves to get in the car, but at first she would not always love to get OUT of the car once we got somewhere. It was a sight at times. She was definitely afraid of the parking lot/ entrance/ door/ people of a pet store. We would go somewhere and then just come home... Now, no worries about that but there are still times she does not like what is going on where we have gone and that is that, home we go. Patience and LOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Was there a connection with the problems and the joint health? I give joint health chewables to my 12.5 year old GH - should I have any concerns?
  15. Greyhound Gang has it (in a powder form) and Claudia can answer any questions you may have. Fresh Factors vote #2 here as well and joint health chewables along with it. ( Springtimeinc.com)
  16. I put it right into their food bowl or they take it off the spoon/ my finger! I give about a full teaspoon almost daily but I do not have any idea if that is enough for 74-84 pound dogs. They have good breath, their coats look good. (I also brush their teeth with it). They tolerate it just fine. I have put it on them topically for small wounds or dry skin patches. Love the stuff. PS- I had a black Jasper too, but he was a sheltie !!
  17. Not knowing if something specific is going on, what has helped my 12.5 yr old girl greyhound is Fresh Factors from Springtimeinc.com. I read a lot of reviews of this product here on GT ( search for fresh factors or joint health chewables) first and I LOVE them. She had/ has back end weakness but most noted when trying to go up the stairs that she never had trouble with before. She has no trouble now after being on the supplement for a month ( started working quickly). I can only speak of my experience, but without a diagnosis of anything joint/ pain/ arthritis specific, this stuff works.
  18. Hi, I do not know about the heart issues but the Denamarin is a must for our liver girl!! Ours was diagnosed with chronic active hepatitis at 10 and is now 12.5. We also use lactulose ( ask your vet what they think about that too). It helps with absorption of food so the liver does not work so hard ( not explaining it well, but our girl was having seizures because of her liver and has not had one since being on these things). I would think at least Denamrin for sure.
  19. Pet Meds n More is about $58.00 for 30 day supply and I think they may require a Dr prescript sent to them first. It is expensive but I do not know how much milk thistle and sam-e to use, and as GreyTzu said, it is a life saver for liver disease! So depending how seriously it is needed for the liver, and if you feel comfortable putting the other supplements together to make it right?, it is $$$$ !
  20. Jax does it all the time. I wish my girls would do it !!
  21. We get denamarin at Amazon.com or pet meds n' more.com way cheaper then the Dr office.
