I ended up with Dr. Steven Smith. He was going to charge me the "out of area" rate while I am at my stepfather's house since I am, indeed, out of his preferred area but he didn't!. He is very open, easy to deal with and good with greyhounds. Tallulah's first visit was in great, we stood in the backyard and he checked her all over, went over her records and gave me the scrip for the flea/tick/worm meds. Since it is him and his tech, he actually costs less than my NYC homecare vet and HE gave me every possible cost break he could!
I now have every homecare vet, er service, ambulance service, etc. in my phone in case anything every happens. Uber won't take dogs unless they are service dogs and even then it is up to individual drivers. I want to be prepared!!!!
I should add he was very complimentary about the hospitals fix of her leg break, he said that he could neither see, nor feel where she had broken the leg.
