Oh No.....I am truly sorry to hear this. I don't check this thread very often so I missed it 2 weeks ago. Hor Rod ws a wonderful presence here on GT and I'll miss seeing his pics and stories with grandma. I dowatch Millie and wait to hear about Roman Tiger but Hot Rod wa special. My beautiful little girl with bunny-soft fur went to the bridge last night. She has had GI issues since November and we now believe she had a tumor in her intestines. It was not felt and tests were inconclusive. Yesterday her intestines were preforated and bacteria entered her abdomen and became septic. Nothing could be done. Burdette and I were with her and she went very peacefully. We miss you and love you very much sweet Kelsey. Run with the angels, Sterling and all our friends at the Bridge.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have been giving her chicken with rice and low sodium gravy mixed in with kibble. She also has been eating the potatoes and pasta but I'll try some other proteins with her.

Kelsey went to the vet for a check-up and everything checks out fine but she has lost weight - from 59 lbs to 50 lbs since the spring. Next week she will be 11 years old. She is looking a bit bony so I'm giving her potatoes, pasta, rice adding broth to her kibble. Any other suggestions for gaining weight?

I'm so sorry to hear of Homer's leaving you. It is a very difficult time when they leave us. After my Sterling passed last year I waited about 6 weeks before we got Burdette. I also have Kelsey, who was missing her friend and I wanted another hound for her too. Your heart will tell you when its time for another hound.
