  1. Thanks for the update and the detail. It's a bit of a cliche, but knowledge is power. I hope Bodie feels much better very soon.
  2. I agree with LynnM. Since you've got the vet appointment scheduled already, see what your vet says.
  3. Jeez, I hope she's OK (and it's more embarrassment than physical injury)
  4. I sure hope he's good feeling better. You must be very relieved that there was no obstruction.
  5. I'd definitely consult your vet. A friend of mine has a hound with LS. The injections did help, but I think the effectiveness diminishes over time. This article might give you some extra info: http://www.grassmere-animal-hospital.com/cauda_equina.htm

    Good Bye Mae Mae

My deepest sympathy... she must have been a "take no nonsense" girl...
  7. I am sorry for your loss.
  8. I'd talk to your vet. This info may help, too: http://www.grassmere-animal-hospital.com/cauda_equina.htm and http://home.comcast.net/~greyhndz/lumbosacral.htm
  9. Bitter apple is supposed to work (although I don't have any personal experience). The first site Mommydog provided carries it. http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page...roducts_id=1131
  10. My dental hygienist uses an ultrasonic cleaner on me (as well as conventional scaling). I think it can get deeper in the pockets. I don't know if they're using the same thing on the dogs. Human version is called a Cavitron.
  11. Dr. Stack's article: Greyhound Bloodwork Another article: more on greyhound labs And I found this: BUN test More human related (so the values aren't meaningful in this case), but it does describe what the test looks for. For specific guidance, look to Dr. Feeman's thread. Hope this helps.

    My Skye Pup

    My sincere sympathy.
  13. I'm so sorry to hear about Bodie's setback... I'll be thinking of him.
  14. My vet sutures after extractions... especially for Kara when she lost 29 when she was still my foster.
  15. If I open the door, and start looking for the spa attendant with the towels, it's too hot
  16. Very scary. I've had good luck with CET Hextra dental chews. My girls have come through dentals with no problems. My vet does use a "high risk" anesthesia protocol, but I don't know the specifics.
  17. My girls are eight, also (Nadia- 5/99, Honey and Kara - 6/99). All three have had dentals this year with no problems. They were a bit subdued the evening of the procedure but were their normal (well, normal for a greyhound ) selves by the next morning. I'm sure your guys will be fine, too.
  18. Good to hear some good news... hope she continues to improve
  19. No personal experience with my hounds, but from everything I've read, if his corns were painful I'd think he would have been limping

Go to God pretty little greyhound Once so loved, then so lost Sometime in the Morning Mary Butler It's two years since you went missing... Wherever you are, I will always miss you
  21. Hopefully, you won't have a repeat, but the grape entry on this list this list has some info.
  22. Poor kid. Could it be some sort of severe food alergy? I hope seh's better soon.
  23. And here I thought that was only a figure of speech Oh come on! Like you've never considered saving a bag in your glove compartment to hurl at whichever moron just cut you off, talking on his/her cell while driving, and doing 30 mph in the passing lane in a 65 mph zone. Yes, I'm from Jersey On the advice of my attourney, I respectfully invoke my fifth ammendment rights. I'm from Jersey, too
