  1. No experience with tapesworms in dogs, but my outdoor cat (affectionately known as "bunny breath") used to get them from time to time. I'd hold off on any medication for now.
  2. My vet hasn't said anything one way or the other. I did have them vaccinated when I was thinking of kenneling them while I was on vacation, but I don't do it routinely.
  3. I give the girls Interceptor once a month, every month around the first. I also have them tested as part of their routine annual check up (belt-and suspenders, I guess). I set a reminder in Outlook.
  4. They don't call 'em cat box crunchies for nothing
  5. I wouldn't take the chance. Probably not harmful but no longer effective, either.
  6. One of my girls had a cut pad. The vet used dissolving sutures and we kept the bandage on for about a week as I recall. I do remember having to "bag" her foot to kep the bandage dry when she went out. Poor girl was embarrassed to go out wearing a convenience store bag. Pad cuts do take a while to heal.
  7. LOL... guess I'll quit complaining about the occasional SBD... ope the vet sorts it out
  8. The fairly quick onset sure sounds like a TBD or environmental toxin. Could he have gotten into something in the yard? I sure hope he recovers soon.
  9. My red girl, Nadia, has a few and they do seem to be multiplying (or maybe I need to clean my glasses... )
  10. Honey and Nadia get an annual cleaning. Kara, poor girl, has almost none left. She was a bounce and her teeth were in terrible shape when I got her. She had major dental work, but needed more in less than six months. So, it really depends on the dog. Your vet should tell you if/when a dental is needed, but if in doubt, ask.
  11. Honey - if she is really excited about going out for a walk or a ride Kara - not yet, although I only adopted her a bit over a year ago Nadia - just the occasional loud "yelp" if I fail to let her in in what she considers a timely fashion
  12. My three girls get 1 1/2 cups twice a day. All just turned eight. Kara is small and slim (about 60 lbs), Honey is my big girl (about 70 lbs, sop I've started reducing her food a bit) and Nadia, at 65 lbs is in the middle. Honey and Kara get Proplan lamb and rice. Nadia gets Science Diet beef and rice.
