  1. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
  2. Ouch! Hope he does well and heals quickly
  3. I'm so very sorry for your loss
  4. I should have been more specific - Honey and Kara will stand. Nadia lays down after a while. But, then again, I've seen many hounds that would just as soon lay down at a m & g. In any case, unless you have any other signs, I wouldn't worry about seizures.
  5. I don't know about seizures, but one of my girls, Nadia, is definitely a member of the "why stand when you can lay down" club. I know she doesn't have any sort of seizure disorder. Honey and Kara will get bored sometimes if I chat too long on a walk. But I do a monthly meet-and-greet and they have no problem standing for extended periods. The difference at a meet-and-greet is, of course, that there are always new people coming to see them (I'm just the guy holding the leashes )
  6. If dogs could giggle, I guess we'd have the authoritative answer.
  7. Only on Greytalk.... I swear. Only a matter of time til the "poop" conversations turned to the source...
  8. Many greyhounds will be wondering why their weird parents are lifting up their tails.
  9. Not a silly question at all. There is another thread going on about this (that of course I can't find). Sounds like Fenway may have some sort of skin irritation or allergy. If not fleas, are the mosquitoes bad? Any sign of insect bites? I'll try to find that other thread and post the link here. Found it: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=174943
  10. First, for the serious part... is it causing her any problems? Does your vet think it might cause problems for her later in life? Her back end may be a bit off, but the front end is very pretty. And, no I haven't checked my girls. They roach often enough that I happen to know (although not the sort of thing I've given much thought).
  11. Honey has a spot on her ribs... If I hit it just right, she'll thump. If she has a skin irritation, I sure don't see any outward indication. I always thought she was just ticklish.
  12. First, I hope the growth turns out to be nothing serious. She does look like quite a character. As far as anesthesia... all three of my girls have been under for their dentals (and Kara's first required 29 extractions - a story for later). All have done fine. I'm sure Roo will, as well.
  13. ... and always remember to wear these... safety glasses. Norm Abrams
  14. I get blood work done for my girls when they get thier dentals. I kind of put it in my "while we're at it" file. BTW... I don't know what you do for Max's teeth between dentals, but I've been using CET Hextra dental chews with pretty good results.
  15. If you can get the dog to go along, it's probably a good thing for their gums. But I keep hearing the music from the Vonage VoIP phone ads...
  16. Good thoughts... and my eight year old girls Honey and Nadia had their dentals with no problems.
  17. Not a bad mom... just a good mom with a working nose.
  18. All of my girls have their dew claws. I'm actually a bit surpised that Honey hasn't injured hers. The sit at about a 45 degree angle to her leg instead of laying close in.
  19. I hope they dtermine what's wrong, start the appropriate treatment and that Monty is well very soon.
  20. So very hard to answer. I'm even having trouble finding the "right" words. Knowing in advance might give us time to prepare, but how do you really prepare. I haven't had to face it with my hounds, but I have been faced the loss of treasured cats. In all three cases, I had advance warning, but watching them go down hill was hard - especially with K.C. By the time I decided to help him over, the cancer had left him a mere shadow of himself. On the other hand, there was the chance to say goodbye. So, in I end up where I started - I just don't know. I'm sorry for your loss - pretty inadequate words.
  21. If the NSA is eavesdropping on this thread, I hope they don't judge it based on the topic
