  9. Oh my God..I've just come across this thread....poorest Bill sweetheart, what the heck happened to this sweet soul? My very best wishes for a speedy recovery coming Bill's way from Spain!
  10. My Soldi just had bloody colitis and vomiting...as in my experience vets often make things worse filling up the hounds' organism with lots of meds which interfere the natural healing process, I just waited keeping an eye on her temp and hydration. She fasted for 3 days...yesterday she started eating again and now she's completely back to her normal self... If the hound drinks sufficiently and has NO fever I would wait at least 48 hours to give the organism a possibility of recovery...in most cases the colitis issues resolve on their own just with fasting.
  11. My very best wishes for poor Jupp!
  12. Poor Todd...many healing thoughts coming his way from Spain! By the way...to me it looks pretty much like a cat attack. Cats try to attack the eyes..terrible.
  13. I'm sorry to read about your problems with Jupp. My 11,5 old Ivy has back leg problems and sometimes I think he might have LS. I don't medicate him except COSEQUIN (Chondroitin/Glucosamine supplement), he gets Vitamin E and homeopathic RHUS TOXICODENDRON. I give him the maximum exercise (1 hour walk off-leash every morning and 20 to 30 minutes walk in the late afternoon) he can tolerate and the result is that he has been 'stable' in his condition for years...He doesn't seem to be in pain but often he has problems with the stairs or falls over when pooping. My opinion is that immobility increases stiffness and that walking (although for short periods of time) is very important to maintain his joints flexible...

  19. I think a well conditioned Greyhound, active racer or retired or just pet dogs like my two, develops good muscles due to steady and regular exercise. My hounds never raced but get quite a lot of exercise ...they are well muscled, above all Soldi the female...Ivy runs less and has lost some muscles.
