  1. Thank you so much for your feeling replies...
  2. Positive thoughts for you both, what a tragedy... like Dutchgrey said: let's hope a miracle to happen.... have luck!
  3. My beloved "Gos" died this past January... time is passing but I still miss him so much. He was the embodyment of canine perfection, always walking by my side. He never needed a lead and his attention did not turn away from me neither by other dogs, nor by stray cats. He was wonderful with children and an excellent guarddog (defense training). He had learned to cross his sweet paws on command... Bye, Bye my sweet dog..
  4. I feel so very sorry for your sudden loss! My deepest sympathy to you...

    Goodbye Iberia

I must admit that your terrible story has really touched my heart. I feel so sorry...
  8. The swelling can be due to some trauma or bruising. I would wait a few days putting Arnica on it carefully and I would give him the homeopathic remedy BELLADONNA D4 every 2 hours till you notice that he's getting better. If in two or three days the paw doesn't get better I would take her to the vet.
  9. Very nice, thanks for posting.
  10. My grey gets sometimes, just for short moments those olive-sized little swellings on both sides but they disappear very quickly again. It might be a previous sign of a bit of excitation.
  11. What a WONDERFUL POEM !!!
  12. The bandage they used for my dogs in all cases was a very light plaster-like stuff which consisted of layers of hard paper and cotton(no metal at all) it's called "Robert-Jones" bandage over here in Spain, do your vets use this in the US?
  13. You cannot imagine how sorry I feel for you and your poor dog. I understand you so well as I had to go through the "cast topic" already three times ( two broken legs and one torn ligament). It's a really frustrating situation, you count the days till the cast will be taken off and then in your case the foot has gotten worse, that's incredibly depressing. I keep you in my thoughts. When my dogs had the cast, I took them out every day, they hopped with three legs and even got used to it, as the bandaged leg was immobilized they couldn't use it. We went for 20 minutes in the morning and another 20 minutes in the afternoon, they even pulled on the lead with three legs. Of course they went on the sofa with their cast, animals adapt amazingly to those situations. I think if the foot got worse it must be the fault of your vet. Maybe I would try to get another opinion. My very best wishes for you, keep us posted.
