  1. Best wishes for sweet Miss Sadie! May she soon be back to her normal self...
  2. That's a side effect of the Rimadyl in my opinion. My Greyhound got serious intestinal bleeding after 4 days of Rimadyl administration. The vet recommended only Omeprazole which I didn't like much either but bit by bit the bloody diarrhea stopped...he didn't give me neither antibiotics nor Flagyl.
  3. I feel for you as my Grey 'Ivy' is totally terrified of vets too..one or even two persons are NOT able to get him into a vet office. It's pure torture for him...poor hounds. They don't understand what we humans do to them. I hope you'll find a solution for your poor Gracie...many healing thoughts for her!
  4. He's such a beautiful black boy...my very best wishes for you both!
  5. My very best wishes for poor Gracegirl's speedy recovery!!!

  7. I'm so very sorry for your loss! They do leave us too soon...Run free, sweet Sophie

  13. Bitter almonds are very dangerous for humans too...6 eaten bitter almonds kill a person, so I suppose a dog too, but who will eat them...they taste awfully.
  14. My Soldi eats quite often almonds (we have a tree in the garden) and she serves herself whenever she wants... she never had a problem. I hope your hounds won't have any problems either...
  15. I really feel for you and Katie...what a terribly hard time for you both. My Greyhound has hind leg issues (loss of strength) certainly due to a similar problem as the one of your Greyhound. He doesn't seem to be in pain and still can lead a normal life (walks, jumping in the car, stairs etc.) but he doesn't run anymore and often his hind legs are kind of wobbly and weak. Reading your post I think I won't decide surgery for him ever...it seems to be a very delicate surgery. I strongly hope, that your sweet Katie will recover soon and her horrible pain will stop. I understand you so well...it's just the worst to see our beloved hounds suffer without being able to aleviate their suffering. I wish you the best...keep us posted!
