I'm so sorry.

I am so sorry. Was she actually diagnosed? This is a very hard question to answer. My story- Polli started limping severely in Sept. 07. We had a full set of x-rays done and they were clear. After about 6 weeks of severe limping, it subsided and she basically did not limp. We kept her on 75mg of deramaxx every day which is an antiamflammatory and tramadol when needed. 11months later, she started limping again. We did not rush into the x-rays and waited about 3 weeks. I then thought it was time to re-x-ray but I didn't have the chance. She tripped on the steps and fractured the leg. We amputated the next day. she had 5 chemos and we lost her 5 months later. She was just 10 years 2 months when we lost her.

Hugs to you Diane. We make the best decisions we can at the time with the information we have. Eliza was loved and knew it.

I'd recheck it in 6 weeks or so if she is still limping. I understand your fear. I really do. Polli's x-rays came up negative after some pretty extensive x-rays done- one year later, the osteo reared it's ugly head. You are on top of this, which is greyt. I'd give her NSAIDs and keep her off the cement. It could be nothing- it could be something that is not showing up. Of coiurse, we are all praying for the latter.

Just remember that Elsie had mammary cancer. She had 6 tumors. One was rather large- all of a sudden. The large one was indeed cancer. But the cancer was removed, it was stage one and she had clean margins. It was a text book example of a good case, thank GOD. So, it's not always a terrible outcome. Have it checked asap and if necessary removed. And Phene WILL be OK. He will.

And I feel the same way about you Tom- I feel very connected through an amazing journey- through what our girls went through together - as well as what you and I went through together. I remember when you told me she was coughing. Neither of us wanted to believe it, how could we. We had come so far... unfortunately, not far enough. No one should go through this alone.

We had the vet come to our house when we let Polli go. It was very sureal. First was a shot- a sedative that put her in a very comfotable place. We then spent about 20 minutes cooing, holding and loving her. She was soaking wet from our tears. The vet sat in his car for a while. Then the shot- which stopped her heart. I had my head laying on her when that happened. It's not something I will ever forget, but I made a promise to her, that I would not make her do it alone. It was so hard, I can not begin to tell you. But you too will get through it. Many hugs and prayers for you during this unbeleivably difficult time.

We give Chloe, Teddy and Elsie- minimal- 3 year Rabies. Beau becaue of his compromised immune system gets NOTHING- not even rabies. My kitties used to get the full set of shots every year. Now, they get nothing. They are strictly indoor cats.

Yikes. Very scary. Sending many prayers.

I just got off the phone with Dani- Star is resting comfortably. Walking around- eating and had been panting heavily earlier this afternoon about 3 hours after the tramdol which could be causing the panting. Hopefully within a few days, she will be on the road to OSU if everyone agrees that is what is in Star's best interest. Continued prayers for this pretty girl and her mom.
