  1. Monty had some major skin issues. Maybe his mom will see this and offer some advice. Hope you get some answers soon.
  2. Agreed about the pain meds. Please don't make him wait. that will be like forever for him. Sending lots of prayers your way. After you get some meds into him let us know how he is feeling.
  3. Welcome from NY- she is beautiful.
  4. Sending loads of prayers and white light for you & Shanti.
  5. We use the full dose on all our hounds. The large (purple package). We only use it when we go to our PA house. we don't need it for our main home.
  6. Sending white lights and prayers for Asa and all the other hounds who need it.
  7. We had a full leg boot from medivet products in a size large when Beau had a cast on for 6 weeks. It was greyt. See if the vet has one for you (that's where we got ours) or I bet you can get it online. Your boy is so sweet. ETA- here it is, this is the one we have. http://www.medivetproducts.com/
  8. Low sodium chicken broth was my thought too. Yes, I would try that too. If you have some boiled chicken breast (doesn't EVERYONE have 5 pounds at any given time premade in their fridge ) You could add a tablespoon of the broth to the water which is really hard to resist.
  9. Oh poor Spencer. Unfortunately, dogs will be dogs. I hope he has a fast uneventful recovery.
  10. Good news, what a breath of fresh air. More like GREYT news!
  11. ...which we know can be expected! It will get better. I've been keeping a journel so I can look back and remind myself 1) how far we've come and 2) what it's like each chemo.
  12. So many things are genetic that there is nothing you can do. You can give them a good diet, their shots regular dentals, excercise and then just pray! Osteo- bone cancer LP-Lumbar Paralysis -
  13. Yes, Polli lived on Nature Valley granola bars and chicken for 3 days post chemo. We now know that for the first 4 days post chemo, not to get totally insane with the food. Please remind me of that the next time around!!!! Ember- you eat whatever it is you want as long as you are eating and putting on a little weight. Tom- when Polli was not eating ANY dog food, my vet suggested ice cream for calcium.
  14. Continued good thoughts for Hobbes. How is he acting/feeling?
  15. How awful. I am so sorry. Unthinkable.
  16. I am taking the day off Thursday (and I am off Friday!) and having my hair highlighted and cut. I am seriously, seriously overdue. I had no time to do anything for me. Thanks!!!
  17. this must be so frustrating. I'm sorry. Continued good thoughts and prayers.
  18. Monday, November 24. I'm sure it will feel just as we were starting to feel "normal" back to the beginning. I will have to come back and re-read this thread!!!! I was thinking the same thing. There weren't any options. We just had to do what we had to do. Hope YOU NEVER have to go through this. I wish no body did.
  19. Same with my Beau. His poop has been loose for years. I have brought in sampe after sample convinced there was something wrong. Finally, I switched to Proplan sensitive stomach/ salmon and it's MUCH better. Soft, but very formed. The glucosomine and missing link I add to their food keeps it on the soft side.
  20. Amber- this has been really an amazing story. I am so happy that Soul is on his way "back".
  21. Wow- I don't know if it feels like 5 days or 5 years or something in the middle. Funny thing is I can not remember having my bed on it's frame or my Polli with 4 legs. The biggest thing I was the most concerned about was her spirit. To know Polli, you would understand why. She is my resident big mouth, although her son Beau comes in a close 2nd. Let's just say that Beau gets ALL his traits quite honestly. My Polli is back. She is demanding, vocal and is running around like she had 4 legs. She even ate her kibble and wet food 2 nights in a row. She is back to demanding cookies and demands louder if we don't move fast enough. In the begining, day by day after the amp, the days were long and the nights were longer. I was scared and wondered whether or not I did the right thing. Chemo is rough but we made it through round 2. Thank you to everyone who has cheered her on from near and far. Thank you to for the gifts, cards, PMs and calls. Thank you for being there for me. I don't know how I could have done it without you all. I hope I never have to find out. Robin & Polli
  22. I'm sorry I missed this thread but happy to hear the outcome for your boy. He is beautiful. Hope he is a quick and uneventful recovery.
  23. This is exactly what I was thinking. Miracles do happen and I am praying for one for you and Penny. Hugs to you both.
