  1. Welcome! I pm'd Annette for you and told her about this thread...hopefully she'll see it. You don't have enough posts yet to contact her via GT.
  2. Your tribute to beautiful Hailey brought tears to my eyes, you can feel the love with each word you wrote. I am really sorry it was Hailey's time to go but she had a wonderful life with you and you'll always have such lovely memories.
  3. 2 weeks may seem like a long time but it really isn't...she has a safe place and feels comfortable there. Our first grey was extremely timid and would always go into her crate. after a while we did the same thing, closed the door to her for shorts amount of time. but we put a nice pillow in a corner because that's where she'd always go to lay down (on the carpet. I think we started this after a couple of months though, not weeks. You're on the right track though, she just needs time to settle in and it will happen...and it will be a pleasant surprise.
  4. No suggestions...just scritches for sweet Kebo wishing the pain would go away.
  5. I'm so sorry for your loss...she sounds like she had a wonderful life with you.
  6. Why aren't you giving it to him if you know he's happy and exhuberant about playing? I can sort of relate. Brooke used to chomp down when she was taking a treat and i quickly taught her to take it nicely but just having a small edge visible and when she takes it nicely she gets the treat with lots of praise. Perhas you can work with him by turning your back on him and when he settles down, turn around and give him the toy. Again, I much prefer to see our greys play with them so i never hold onto them for any length of time, unless one needs to be repaired.
  7. glad for the good news and here's hoping that Desi will feel better with rest.
  8. Both of our pups were fostered and I never really felt that they missed their foster home, however they may have been on a different routine and missed that part. We are on a very regular routine 24/7 and within a couple of days they seem to thrive on that. We try to stay on the same routine during holidays as well. I find that works best for us to get them to settle in asap. We've never had a pup from a prison program, but I would imaginethat would feel very similar to fostering for the grey.
  9. You will find a wealth of info here, a caring GT community, and lots of cute pics.
  10. she's enjoying her cuddles...much of what you hear about dominance theory is a myth and has been debunked many times. Peggy just wants you to keep petting her and she's learned that by giving her paw, wiggling clser and licking, you will continue. Seems like a win-win, both of you are trained
  11. When I started reading your post, I thought you were talking about yourself and was kinda shocked about it being close to a nipple and not being able to find your camera It wasn't until I read the line about the vet appt that I realized you were talking about sweet Jaynie. Hope it turns out to be harmless.

    Moto Hot Rod

I am so very sorry. Your stories and pictures made him bigger than life and he was loved so much by many of us. It's hurts so much to know he's gone even though he's no longer in pain. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him.
  13. Secret to cold walks in winter coming from a Canadian is to dress appropriately. Seriously, I wear sheepskin lined boots, jeans lined with fleece, down coat, sheepskin hat and mitts and merino wool underneath it all. The pups wear warm coats and we keep moving. I find this makes walking much more enjoyable when everyone is toasty warm. Although we don't have any right now, it's still cold, but we can walk for a long time without the walk feeling like a chore. I always want to enjoy the walks because sadly there will be a time when I wish I could have "just one more walk with our pup." Sorry, don't mean to get carried away...just offering a suggestion to make walking more enjoyable, rather than "just another thing I have to do."
  14. oh no, not Hot Rod, not another precious pup
