Secret to cold walks in winter coming from a Canadian is to dress appropriately. Seriously, I wear sheepskin lined boots, jeans lined with fleece, down coat, sheepskin hat and mitts and merino wool underneath it all. The pups wear warm coats and we keep moving. I find this makes walking much more enjoyable when everyone is toasty warm.
Although we don't have any right now, it's still cold, but we can walk for a long time without the walk feeling like a chore. I always want to enjoy the walks because sadly there will be a time when I wish I could have "just one more walk with our pup."
Sorry, don't mean to get carried away...just offering a suggestion to make walking more enjoyable, rather than "just another thing I have to do."
