  1. Does your group use foster homes? Maybe he can be with a family. They will find the right home for him. Did you make arrangements with the group to make the return easier for all? Hugs! Not easy!
  2. In the lower part of the circle, there is a round area that looks like it is sitting in the pad. You can see some of the defined edge around it. A very moist pad will pull away from the round part, leaving a groove around the corn. The corn sticks above the surface when it is ready to come out. Some fall out on their own. Check out the corn hulling videos on YouTube, or the Facebook page.
  3. Have you tried messing with it? Hulling doesn't hurt. My dog used to sleep through it.
  4. Looks like a corn that's ready to hull. Keep the pad moist, and work around the edges of the corn. There are YouTube videos to show you how to do it. Pretty easy when it is ready to come out. There is a greyhounds with corns Facebook group with lots of advice and pictures. Good luck!
  5. Hugs! Did you speak with Dr Weinberg, or just review the web site? If you didn't touch base, you should at least email him. He could be planning to be out of town, and you don't want to be counting on him always available. I have been able to have him come out with as little as an hours notice, but one time I called him in the evening and he was on the road, about six hours away. Another 24 hour option if your vet isn't available (but you have to take the dog there) is Northstar Animal hospital right off 195 at exit 7. Not sure where you are. I'm in Howell, so it's an easy trip. They have a private room for folks to sit with their pet. It has a rug and couches, so it looks like a lounge, not an exam room. It even has a private exit so you don't have to go back through the lobby. Hope you can enjoy the time you have left, and make it special! This sucks, but our dogs count on us to help them out of their pain. It is Sooo hard, but we are here for you. Hugs again!
  6. Dr Weinberg from home care vet is local. I believe that homecarevet.net is the website. I love him. Very gentle and caring. I used him for several of my goats before needing him for my dogs. He came out for Mickey on Labor day weekend, and came out on a weekend for CeeCee. Several of my friends have used him. 732 620-1972. Monmouth and Ocean Counties. So sorry that you are at this step! Hugs!
  7. Hugs to you! His body is saying that he has run out of time. Please don't continue with additional treatments. Read what you wrote. Bleeding wounds. Bulging, oozing eye. Bulging abdomen. Trouble getting up and down. Wouldn't go for a walk. Why would you want to prolong this? It is Sooo hard to do the right thing, but it is time! Make the call out of love for him!
  8. I've been using it for a couple of months, because my picky senior will eat it. No problems, she looks great, and I get free shipping on Amazon. I was just at Walmart, and they had it on sale.
  9. Paper tape works fine, and is easier to get off. My Mickey had SLO. He lost dozens of nails over the years, and sometimes needed the foot wrapped for a day or two. He didn't think he could walk on a wrapped foot, and would hop on three legs until the wrap came off. He even did this with just a sock. I could take it off, and he would be fine, but if I put it back on, the foot didn't touch the ground!
  10. I have used the preventic collar for years. Works great, but I think it can't be used around cats.
  11. I'm so sorry! I lost four between September and February, so I know the shock and pain you are feeling. Life isn't fair. Hugs!
  12. I've tried several of those, but never an expensive three level one. They all seem to work at first, but not for long. This one seems to alternate through three different sounds so the critters don't get used to the sound. My friend has had the same luck in her barn. I used the. On my porch and in my basement. They never bothered the dogs.
