Guest jennyheater Posted August 9, 2010 Share Posted August 9, 2010 On June 28 we had to take our old man to the vet for the last time. Our beautiful red fawn boy had been with us for 11yrs.... He was the best dog ever dealing with our son with autism.... If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have 4 others laying on the floor now. Starlight was my husbands heart dog, always ready to snuggle and "dragon paw" for scritches. Starlight had been showing his age for a while, but this past Spring really caught our attention, he was telling us his time was coming. It broke our hearts daily to see him and wonder when "the time" would be. June 28 it was time. Starlight went to the bridge with Jim and I gently scritching him and our very compationate vet saying good bye and letting him go. We miss him daily, especially Jim. Thankfully, we had a "permanent" border come into our lives this spring that has decided Jim is hers... and she has helped fill the hole in his heart... but its august 8 and I'm in tears again as I write this. Thank you to all of you that voted for Starlight in the Susy awards last year, I was really hoping he'd be here this summer for them again... Run free sweet Starlight Leroy...
