Guest Shermanator Posted July 15, 2010 Share Posted July 15, 2010 We lost our beloved greyhound, Sherman 2 weeks ago today to the dreaded osteo. We are still very sad, and miss him terribly, but the house seems empty with just Patton. (Also, Patton is sad being alone.) However, the best way for us to honor Sherman is to rescue another. Her name is Travel (WSR Travlee) and she is so tiny, and very shy. We have started to visit her at her foster mama's since we cannot bring her home until the 23th. She's super shy, but we are looking forward to providing her with a loving home in which Patton can show her the ropes, and she can blossom in our home. I'll visit her several times next week @ her foster mama's, and then adopt a week from today. Then it will be a picture fest! I think Sherman would have loved her, and he would approve- they are so similar- --Sherman was black with white on the tips of his toes. She's black with white on the tips of the back paws. --Sherman was very big for a greyhound- super tall. She's super tiny- they are both on the more extreme end of the spectrum. --Sherman was a bounce (without a lot of good information - they just took him back, after a month.) Same with little Travel. --Sherman's foster mama at first was not going to give him up and adopt him herself. He was super shy, and scared, and she wanted to make sure his next home would be forever. Same with Travel. I actually know her foster mama, and the only reason she is not adopting Travel herself is since she knows me, and knows Travel will be loved, pampered and spoiled. She knows we will work hard with her, and have a lot of patience with her. --Sherman was super shy, and it took a while to coax him out of his shyness. Same with little Travel.
