HopeForHounds Posted June 20, 2010 Share Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) Jake has been doing really well since he had a month on doxy in Janurary. No flare ups at all. Today we took him to do a meet and greet, and he did really well. The floor was concrete, and he started sagging in the back end a bit so I sat on the floor and made him lay down. I thought that he was likely sore from standing (I know I was) so I gave hime some metacam just in case. A little while ago DH came to get me as Jake had fallen down the 3 stairs. DH had carried him up from the basement but he was laying a bit funny and panting. I got a towel and put it under Jake to use as a sling and helped him outside. He is holding his right leg (the one that flared up most often) and is wonky in the back end (again something we would see at the beginning of a flare up) He had a good pee and a pooped and we carried him back inside and got him laying on his side. He has stopped panting, so part of that may have been his need to go. His temp is up abit and his groin and back legs are hot. That worries me, as those are the same symptoms as we were having before. I'm hoping that he just overdid it and the fall scared him. I gave him a tramadol to make sure he is comfortable and now we wait until morning. I'm sleeping in the living room with him in case he needs me. Once I helped him upright, he was able to manage the walk to the yard and the 2 steps off the deck himself. He is very subdued and doesn't want any food though. The good news is there is no swelling in either of his back legs. The bad news is his temp is still up. I'm watching him today, and if he isn't improved tomorrow I'll take him in.
