Guest BigPercyInMa
Does anybody know who sells belly bands??????? I'd like to order a couple for Wallace and have them shipped directly to him. When our Lab was old he couldn't always make it out the door and I know that was very hard on him. I feel so sad for Wallace

duncan41
Loads of prayers for Clark! This whole situation is breaking my heart. Please keep us informed on how he's doing. If the meds are going to work, there should be some changes tomorrow. I am trying very hard not to be very, very angry about the treatment of this dog by the Specialist. A dog's health should never be compromised because of lack of funds. Aerosmom
Can you try walking him with a sling? If he's able to use his front legs, you can use a towel under his belly and help him walk by taking the pressure off his hind legs. The only thing, is it will press on the bladder, so you may end up with some leaks. Sending lots of good thoughts for this brave boy. Hugs for his foster family too. I am trying to understand and be calm but watching this dog suffer makes me very mad, especially when it may just be because of lack of funds. Guest vahoundlover
This is so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. One thing we learned that helped Boss a lot, hold his tail about 5/6 inches from the base and help him use it as a rudder, I was amazed when our vet showed us how much it helped Boss walk! I remember how back breaking it was to support his backend when we took him out. My vet made a sling for him out of a towel and duct tape..she layed the towel out and made slits in it for each leg and duct taped them open, we'd slide his legs in the holes before we got him up and then as we were picking him up we pulled the sling the rest of the way up. We used xpens to mark off part of the living room that was easy accesible by us but kept him from too much freedom. There was no way we could get him up and out of a crate. Bossy's room, I can't find any pictures of is sling We also did exercises to help him relearn he had a backend.

I am trying to understand and be calm but watching this dog suffer makes me very mad, especially when it may just be because of lack of funds. The words "PAY IN FULL" and "CARE CREDIT" make me want to scream right now. I don't think these vets realize Care Credit is not for an organization, it is for an individual!! I received this update from foster mom at about 5:50 tonight: My dad came over and helped us move Clark to a better location. While walking him through the house, he moved both legs like he was walking! He was very weak but he was even moving the left leg. It drug and knuckled under a little but it was moving. He seems to be improving. It's not perfect but he is 100 times better now than he was yesterday morning or even this time last night. I am very encouraged. I thought we could all use a little good news on this one. Additionally, help is trickling in and every little bit helps. CfG just did a small collar party fundraiser and the last of the checks came today. We only raised about $500 but it helps! That along with a check from Petco in today's mail helped too! Not enough to cover everything, but certainly enough to hopefully get a good answer at the holistic vet. A board member consults with Vets at MSU on a regular basis for her work. So, she is pulling some strings and seeing what they think or can do. Thank you for all your kind words, prayers, and suggestions. I know that the foster home, myself, and CfG Board want an answer to what is going on so we can make an appropriate decision. HUGS! Guest VaGreymom
Continued prayers for the foster mom and Clark. This is so heart breaking and I know it is so difficult for his foster mom. I had a problem getting one of my girls to drink water when she was sick. I put low sodium chicken broth in her water dish and she lapped that right up. Guest LokisMom
I just wanted to confirm that he is moving his legs. Earlier I was messing with his paw and he pulled it away from me. When I started crying and hugging and kissing him he just looked at me like "Lady, what is your problem?!" Things are in the works and things are looking up right now. He is sleeping peacefully next to me. Thank you all for the prayers and words of comfort. I don't hang out in H&M much because it is often so depressing but I can see now how much it really helps to have the support of others and know that everyone is hoping for the best. Thank you all so much.
