Yeah there is news. He was not able to see the specialist after all. I misunderstood what the leader of the adoption group said. He is back at our house on complete crate rest and he still can't move his back legs. It's just horrible. I hate to see him like this. We were playing with stuffies just last night and now he can't even stand up.

So what's the next step? Sending more prayers.

We have an appointment with a holistic vet on Monday. Maybe he can suggest something. I really don't know what the next step is other than that. The vet gave him steroids and pain meds and we're just hoping he improves.

The same sort of thing happened to Spencer. He was put on Prednisone. He wasn't getting better fast enough so I took him in for acupuncture and that did wonders. Spencer can walk around now and isn't incontinent. Ask the holistic vet about acupuncture.

Oh, the poor boy! And poor you. This has got to be so upsetting. How old is he?

Sending prayers for Clark.

Clark turned 7 in July. He's still too young for this.

Thank you all for the prayers.

Maybe I'm confused, they left you hanging in the air as to what could be wrong?

Basically. The X-rays they took weren't good enough so they recommended a specialist. He cannot go to the specialist due to a lack of funds on my and the groups part at the moment.

They gave us meds and said hopefully he will improve, you'll know by Saturday if the meds are helping. If they don't work then we just make him comfortable until we can see the other vet.

They did say it was something with his spine, likely a herniated disc but they don't know for sure.

That really sucks. I sure hope the meds kick in and help. It's going to be difficult for you to wait.

The first thing I thought of was LS. Lee had to go to the vet due to a fall and then after I dropped him off at the sitter's house she called me and told me he couldn't even stand up on his own and continued falling. That was 3 weeks ago. His meds were changed and he is a completely different dog. I have to keep reminding him to slow down. Hopefully it is not something major. Sending prayers and white light from Kentucky.

Sending many prayers for Clark. Monday seems so far away, I hope he is resting a comfortable as possible.

Will they vet do a payment plan for your group?

Hugs to you, I am sure you this is difficult on you.

Sounds like what happened to Boss. It was a long road to recovery. Acupuncture made all the difference in the world. I don't think Boss would have been with us 2.5yrs later if I hadn't tried it. We started off with weekly sessions and gradually cut back to every 6-8 weeks. Sending lots of prayers.

I'll bet acupuncture or chiropractic instantly fixes this boy. It seems those things that are very diffcult to spot on x-ray often have instant success with acupuncture or chiropractic. :) My husband had a severe problem that no amount of diagnostic testing could diagnose. In desperation he went to a Chiropractic doctor and it was fixed 100% in minutes!

Monday has to be feeling awfully far away. :(

Monday does feel way too far away. We've gotten him to eat so I am a bit encouraged by that and he even chewed a Nylabone for a little while.

He keeps trying to get up and falls over and it's bad. One of us is staying with him all the time to make sure he stays down.

I just want to know what is wrong so we know how to fix it. It's frustrating that when we went to the vet this morning, I naively believed they would tell us what was wrong and fix it. Instead we left in barely any better shape and still with no answers. I know it was silly of me to think that but...

The vet he was at today worked something out with the group but the specialist was unwilling :( I am sure we'll get some fundraising going and it will be fine, it just takes time and it is hard to have to wait for anything when he is in this condition. I am sure the holistic vet will have some answers. He just has to.
