TheFullHouse Posted August 27, 2008 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Our sweet, beautiful girl left for the bridge today at 3:40 p.m. To say our hearts are broken is an understatement. She started having horrible seizures at about 11:00 this morning. She was so brave and so strong. She fought to the end. I had to call Mike to come home and get her to the vet. She wouldn't lay down, she just stood with her head buried in my chest with me telling her how much I loved her until he got her. Andy came over and laid his head on her back and I felt such a sense of calmness come over her. It was at that point Andy got scared and ran off. I so wanted to be with my little girl when she passed but had the daycare kids here so Kevin and Mike were with her and she was covered in her blanket that had mine and Andy's scent on it so she would not pass without us. At 3:40 I felt such a sense of calm come over me. I can't describe it but I knew my angel had left me. We loved you so Emmy. You were my spirited little girl who always kept things jumping. You had enough energy for 10 greyhounds and loved nothing more than having your basketball to play with. You introduced us to this wonderful world of greyhounds and we are forever in your debt for that angel. I hope you are at the bridge, seeing with eyes as clear as day and playing with so many basketballs you can't choose which one you want. Run free baby girl and always know that your mom, dad, Kevin and most of all Andy love you more than you will ever know. Emmy was so very loved and I know that she knew that. May the angels keep you tucked in their arms and I know she will be watching over Andy.
