Guest MomofSweetPotatoes Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Penny, she made sure everyone in the house was o.k. before she let us know she was sick and hurting. On Wednesday night/early Thursday morning, Penny was nesting in her bed when she cried out and held up her back leg. She wouldn't bear weight on her leg so we took her to the vet Thrusday morning. The x-rays confirmed our worst fears - She had osteo in her pelvis and a very large mass in her abdomen. We never knew, and it was a shock, because just 1 month earlier her semi-annual visit came back nearly normal (her BUN was high normal on her bloodwork) So, armed with serious pain meds we brought her home Thursday afternoon. Friday morning, we watched the sunrise together and then had a Penny party so her friends could see her before she recieved her Angel's wings. On Friday March 14th at 3 p.m. Penny recieved her Angel's wings. Gone from the earth but never from our hearts. the following pictures are of her last few hours here on earth. These are moments I will treasure forever. Surrounded by her Bro bro's, they're protecting her and were good indicators of her pain load. Spending a little time with Gus, knowing he'll be o.k. Providing a little comic relief Getting flowers from Auntie Maria (Uncle Michael and her cousins Rizzo and Kiwi) Telling Auntie Maria that it will be o.k. Getting love from Gramma Telling Auntie Allyson it will be o.k. Flower from Auntie Allyson She just farted and is trying to blame it on Mark Taking a noontime siesta with Dad. Letting me know she's tired and it's time to go. We miss her. It's so quiet in the house. Who knew such a tiny girl could make so much noise. Run with the angels sweet Penny, and know you were and always be much loved. You are with some of the very very best.
