macoduck Posted July 2, 2007 Share Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) Oliver's scheduled to get his teeth cleaned today. He is nearly 13. However, his front paw injury from a few weeks ago got much worse this weekend plus his occasionally wonky rear end got worse too. I'm not so sure if the vet will do the dental once they see him. Since the Rimadyl and Tramadol have had little effect I will be asking for xrays to be done this time. The vet was shocked to see how much he was limping compared to 2 weeks ago and has finally agreed to do xrays. After the physical exam he said not only did the foot need to be xrayed, but also the shoulder, pelvis and entire spine. As a human xray tech I know what he'll be going through this morning and then the dental after that. If we get lucky and it's just severe arthritis, and knowing that Rimadyl, Tramadol and assorted kinds of glucosamine haven't helped, what else is there to try? When you say "all kinds of glucosamine" does that include Fresh Factors (which is chondroitin, from bovine)? MSM? Acupuncture and chiropractic help a lot.
