  1. Yes, and could also get it in Canada as well as almost anywhere in the north west US. Nothing special to AK Whoops sorry. I just didn't know Dominos in Seattle carried reindeer sausage as a topping.
  2. Ahhh the Chorizo of Alaska...but can you get it on your pizza?
  3. Hey Jeff -- are there any funky pizza toppings there like deer sausage or whitefish?
  4. Do you mean other steroids? Rex came home after his first Depro shot wearing a fentanyl patch from his surgery.
  5. The shots made my Rex a new man. He went from not being able to get off the couch to bounding up the stairs. His lasted longer than most -- about 6 months. Never had a side effect. Kennelmom will give you a similar testmonial. The shots do not go in the spine, despite common misconception. They go on either side and there is no danger of hitting the spine. Chiro did not help Rex at all. My vet suggested accupuncture instead and I should have listened. As far as how long to see results, I'm not sure. Dr. Herron did Rex's first one when he did his corn surgery so I couldn't tell exactly when it worked, only that by the time his feet were well he was a new man. After that I could see the shots wearing off and took him before it got too bad. I -- a couple of days maybe?
  6. Maybe they open again at Midnight for the after earth moving/gardening/hunting/fishing/berry picking crowd?
  7. Looks like the weather is snow in winter and rain in summer...who needs a forecast? P
  8. Sorry Trudy. Guess you'd better get used to it. From the above mentioned Wihipedia blurb... "Kodiak is known for its rain. This creates lush green during the summer months. Winter temperatures are moderate. While snow storms and freezing temperatures are not uncommon, neither are warm, above-freezing temperatures with rain... The lifestyles of many Kodiak residents still include subsistence food gathering. Fishing (particularly for salmon and halibut), hunting (for black-tailed deer, elk, and goats), and berry-picking (salmonberry, blueberry, and high- and low-bush cranberry) are common summer and fall activities." Jeff, from another part of that article I gues your work is on the Munro?
  9. Actually Trudy, while Amazon might want to reword their shipping to contiguous states (which is what their pea brains probably mean) I gotta give them props that your response was signed by vijayabhaskar.A.V. At least it wasn't like when you call so many companies and a decidedly Indian voice says "Thank you for calling XXX, this is Craig, how may I help you?"

    Thoughts and prayers from here
  11. Sounds to me like Jeff and Trudy better get busy huntin' fishin' and berry pickin' if they want to keep up with the Jones'.
  12. I had a couple of foster have reactions to the Plus. The Top Spot is hard to find anymore.
  13. Metronidazole (Flagyl) is to help his tummy get straightened out. It has nothing to do with worms. Rex had a standing script before I was able to work out his colitis/ibd issues.
  14. I'm still waiting to hear the review of the Mexican food....
  15. Really? In older dogs with multiple vaccinations? I've always heard that was next to impossible. Maybe we need to rethink? Parvo is also rampant here among dogs of all ages -- but they all seem to be puppies that weren't fully vaccinated or unvaccinated adults.
  16. Most vets have gone to the 3 year protocol for DHPP and its variations -- DHLPP etc. That is now suggested by most vet schools and I also believe that the AVHA recommends 3 years for adult dogs with proven vaccination history. My choice is only rabies after 8 or 9. As far as parvo alone is almost always a puupy disease.
  17. . Heartgard only works on some worms. A very grey savvy vet told me it was better to use straight Ivermectin pills for HW and worm occasionally with a broad spectrum wormer like Drontrol.
  18. You go Amy! I know Arco sent her to you - 100%. Hey is tht his S&R stuffie?
  19. As far as Dallas it is very very incomplete. There are only two fairly well respected vet listed and the rating for one is bad. I also don't/wouldn't place much trust in a star rankings based on one customer.
  20. No, she thinks the car IS her new home. That B&B was just a few excursions.
  21. K9 Advantix contains permethrin which many prefer not to /do not recommend for use on greyhounds. If you ONLY have fleas Advantage works better than either but offers no tick protection.
  22. Common mode of canine transportation in Texas also.
  23. I don't know what your guys' issue is; the place looks like a real charmer to me. Think of it all as abstract art. might get a wee nippy in the winter...
  24. OMG! now our collective minds are racing. Outhouses? No running water? No fast food? Quonset huts?
  25. My Rex was the colitis boy. I came home one Easter to a kitchen filled with bloody runs. He had a standing script for flagyl. Rex was also diagnosed with LS at 4 years old and the depro shots helped him a lot. In the end (6 years old) he was in tremendous pain and lame in both fronts. Trips to the specialists -- both neuro and ortho yielded two possible dignosis. GME or a smorles (sp) nodule which is where the disc ruptures into the spine and is inoperable. The neuro vet offered me an immediate MRI for a special price as they had an opening...if I didn't do it then the wait would be over a month to schedule one and did I want my dog to suffer that long or help him now. Feeling like I was in a bad dream at a used car lot I left and called my vet. He sid the prognosis in either case was very grim so why spend $1,200. We let Rex go to the bridge. Prayers for you and your boy
