  1. Do you think that once it has to cross water it's a whole 'nuther ball game? if it makes you feel better a huge number of people don't know New Mexico is a state either. That's why they made their license plates say "New Mexico USA"
  2. ...but there was some concern about Amazon not offering Prime to a US address. If it is overseas to the Coast Guard, why wouldn't it be overseas to Amazon?
  3. I'm getting the picture that if Jeff was reassigned to Kodiak for two more years retirement might start looking pretty darn good.... Is Kodiak considered overseas?
  4. Well, it fits the whole theme of the move. So I guess he's not going to be pulling over drug dealers like on CSI Miami....
  5. okay mountain man where would I find it in Pittsburgh or does KV Vet carry it Jeffers Pet carries it in their equine section for a very good price. They also almost always have really good clearance stuffies ($1-$2) to round out your order. http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/
  6. I've used Wound Kote on dogs with some success but not a sgood as EMT gel. You are right -- the purple/blue color is a PITA.
  7. GEM sells it in their store. Availalbe at Tractor Supply of go to Gordons EMT gel for a dealer.
  8. lepto is only good for a year they say.and does not fall in the 3 year protocol to the best of my knowledge. dunno about rabbits.
  9. Can't live without "Scab in a Tube" as LynnM calls it. It has saved me hundreds if not thousands over the years. I've never used it aith covering, but I think you need to let it set before covering or it might glue pad to owie.
  10. Every time I read those words they run through my head to the opening tune of "Raspberry Beret"...
  11. When Rex was so sick Deramaxx was the only thing that helped hi,. Rimadyl and Tramadol didn't do a thing. Rex had bouts of colitis and a very iffy tummy so I was sort of fearful at first, but we never had any side effects at all. I'm not sure how much Duke weighs, but 1/2 a 100 mg sounds like a pretty low dose. Rex was pushing 90# and started out at 100 and went to 150 toward the end. Only thing to suffer ill effects was my pocketbook.
  12. As stated, I think it depends on where you live. If you are in New England it would be more prudent to consider risk vs. benefits on lyme. In Texas where lepto is making a huge comeback that might be the more prudent addition to DHPP as opposed to lyme.
  13. Mostly because of where I live. In 6 years in Old East Dallas I have never seen one tick. My vet said they are practically non existant in our neighborhoods but more prevelent in the newer suburbs to the North recently carved out of the fields. If I lived in one of the dark pink or black areas on the map above I'd think long and hard about it, but with our risk level I think the risks outweigh the potential benefit. Same with Corona.
  14. We do get it as it is a fairly big problem here, at least according to the vet and some of the rescue people. The every 3 year DHLPP I give is the same price as DHPP, then just lepto in between. I think it largely depends on where you live. I will not ever do corona or lyme.
  15. If you'll wade through the butt thread posted earlier by Pam (I think in aboutthe last 1/4) you can find out how to use the Alton Brown smoker made with two big ceramic pots and a hotplate. That's pretty cheap and it has quite a few testimonials. if it really works.
  16. Who would have thought... :lol But there're no DESSERT recipes on there! Surely there MUST be a Spam cake, somewhere? Here you go! Man, it's WAYYY to early for that. How could that remotely be a good idea?
  17. Did Jeff pick up some good SPAM recipes while he was in Hawaii? Might be time to dust them off.
  18. It'd be like that Johnny Cash song "One piece at a time"....
  19. In most things oil is where the scent is.... Yes it should smell like fish.
  20. I've had better luck with Advantage than Frontline on fleas, but if one doesn't work try the other. I'd get wash all bedding in hot water and use Adams spray on the furniture or wherever she hangs out.
  21. I am so very sorry. My first grey, Little Girl died of IMHA at age 4. I did quite a bit of research and found out middle aged bitches are by far the most likely to die. Thoughts and prayers from here.
  22. We were talking about the Gulf near Texas...sorry. The Gulf in Texas is pretty underwhelming. The Gulf side of FL looks nice though.
  23. How cool! You so rarely see appliances in their natural habitat! I'm surprised someone hasn't hauled the off for scrap. They'd be prime pickin's here.
  24. The Gulf of Mexico really can't even pretend to be an ocean. If you want to retire to South Texas start those Berlitz courses in Spanish now.
