  1. That sunbeam was sent by Dowland - an ephemeral connection in the moment you found him. My heart goes out to you at losing your special boy.
  2. What a relief! Isis, be a good girl now, it isn't for too long.
  3. I am so sorry for your loss of a beautiful boy.
  4. I love happy endings. Lucky Louie's real life is just starting, and a wonderful life it will be!
  5. Sending prayers she will settle down and be fine in the morning
  6. Poor Monty. Good they are doing a culture - I had a foster cat once who my vet tested for resistance and it turned out the antibiotic he was on (ironically, Baytril) was one he was resistant to. Good you found better pricing - I was staggered at what you originally quoted - these are pricy drugs, but that's way more than I have ever paid for either. Please keep us posted on your sweet boy, who, as Claudia says, needs to catch a break! Hugs to Monty and to you!
  7. How wonderful Seminole was able to spend his remaining time in such a loving home. I'm so sorry you didn't have more time with your sweet boy.
  8. I am so sorry you and your baby are going through this. Sending prayers.
  9. I get them both at my local health food store. I am sure there are many brands, the Arnica gel I got is made by Boiron and the calendula ointment is from Unda.
  10. Thanks everyone - sounds like I should get some calendula creme. I have a calendula based ointment but it may be a bit thick for this - I'll see if I can get the gel.
  11. Thanks both of you. Janet, I've used Trameel ointment on me, and the pills on Rickie after his surgery but never the drops - do you apply them to the affected area, or are they taken internally like the pills? Claudia, Ekko is sorely needed here - it is the coldest we've been in over 10 years!! Rickie is curled up on a dog bed beside me, under two fleece blankets. His paws are warm but his ears are still cold.
  12. I'm so sorry the results weren't better but it sounds like you have confidence in the approach and Misty is holding her own, bless her sweet heart
  13. The snow is crusty here and the dogs have a few abrasions. I've not used Arnica gel before, but have heard good things about it so I picked some up today, thinking it might be soothing. But the packaging says not to use it on open wounds, and not to consume it internally. Granted an abrasion isn't an open wound, but is it OK to use the gel an an abrasion? How much do I need to worry about licking? Should I bitter apple around the area just in case? Thank you for your advice!
  14. How is Monty doing today? Hugs to him and to you!
  15. Sending prayers and good thoughts to Cricket.
  16. Ember was a beauty, inside and out. I am so very sorry for your loss of her so soon.
  17. Oh no. I have been following Ember's journey, and like others was hoping the cough was nothing. I am so very sorry.
  18. I remember Janey's story well. Hugs to you.
  19. Now there is an instantly at home hound to be sure. Congratulations on your handsome addition!
  20. This is great! Hopefully you will get more definitive results. Do you have any idea when the OSU results will be available?
  21. Monty - good boy for healing well. Now stay well in spite of these nasty chemo drugs, and enjoy being spoiled by your momma.
