  1. Canned food and soak the kibble. Check & see if he carries Amicar in case she bleeds a lot. Sending prayers!

    Sending my sympathy

    Dexter "bumpy"

How young Thank goodness you brought him home! Sending my sympathy
  4. Thank you for sharing her. I knew she was special, but not why or how. What a great life she had because Kevin cared enough to bring her home. Sending my sympathy to both of you
  5. Nose bleeding is usually caused by two conditions: a TBD (Erlichia) and a tumor. I'd do a panel on her (you can overnight to Protatek and get the results in a day) and if that is clean, you need to do a nose scope. Sending many prayers.
  6. Sending prayers! Once I have two that get into it, they are forever separated when I leave the house.
  7. To me, 11 is not an old dog in greyhounds. Kind of late middle age. Any chance it could be VF?
  8. If they say it's fine, I wouldn't worry much. This is a one time reading also. Greyhounds tend to run high in RBC, HCT and PCV and low in WBC and lower than others in PLT. Is your vet familar with greyhounds?
  9. Don't do a bone biopsy. Do a fine needle aspirate. What did the radiologist say? Also pass on the NSAID shots -- they have the highest rate of nasty side effects if he is going to have a side effect. Many vets underdose tramadol. Rob Roy was in extreme pain after his altercation with Austin. It took acupuncture & chiropractic treatment to relieve his pain. Has he been tested for Valley Fever? Sending many prayers.
  10. I do understand as my Dobe girl, Chrissy died in my arms from a heart problem. Quite honestly my only regret was leaving her side to phone the vet, then rushing back to her -- I wasted a minute or two not holding her. I understand -- try focusing on the fact she went quick which was good for her. Sending my sympathy to all who love her
  11. The three I lost from cancer, by the time they were ready, they were on 100mg of tramadol every 4 hours. They handled it well. Ivey was also on pred, and Mahogany on morphine. Did you have the xrays read by a radiologist? Have you tested him for Valley Fever? Sending prayers!
  12. Jodie had a gluten intolerance as well as IBD with her pancreatic insuffiency, so I ended up cooking for her. Slick ate regular kibble and had no problems as long as he took the Panakare. Shadow was on enzymes for several months after his near fatal pancreatic attack and ate kibble with no problems.
  13. When SieSie had hers, we ended up at the specialist. It took forever (he had to do a grid--I am not squeamish and had a hard time watching) and she wore an e collar (boy was she mad!) for quite awhile.
  14. Carafate & zantac. Some of the "kids" have a difficult time with ceph.
  15. Winslow also takes Transfer Factor. I'm pretty sure the best price is Better Herbs
  16. Run like the wind little girl Sending my sympathy
  17. Seems like I've "known" her forever.....sending my sympathy Run like the wind pretty girl
  18. Thank you for the update. Thoughts: sounds like they need a fund raising person for the Wellness program. Were I retired, I'd take it on <sigh> I'd post some of your post on Facebook on their page.
  19. My sympathy to all who love her
  20. Do not withhold water. She needs it to flush herself out. Get a urine sample in asap. They need to culture it. She also needs bloodwork to rule out diabetes.
