I lost my sweet grandpup, Ciria this morning to stomach caner. She was a beautiful e my heart when I first saw her on the farm. When she came to us she still wanted to be in a puppy pile with the others greys & was the best snuggler. This leaves Laura with only 1 grey, Need I say I HATE CANCER? Run pain free sweet girl & go find your sisters, Mom & Gradma sure will miss you.

Our poodle lived to 21 & as John said the nose is the last to go! Tuffy was blind & deaf but he always knew when the pizza man came or the tuna can was opened. His sleep was longer & deeper the older he got & I always wished he would just go to sleep & not wake up but he didn't. Also the fact that Tibble doesn't want to go out at night may have to do with his eye sight going. It is harder for him to see when it's darker out. Just love him for as long as he's content to be with you & then give him the hardest gift you can, which is to let him go. Sending hugs to Tibbie & you, I know how hard this is.

My DD reminded me Pepper saved 5 human officers by being shot. The idiot was a meth head from my town but thank heavens I didn't know him.

Pepper was a beautiful 2 year old Dutch Shepard that was tracking an escaped convict in the county north/west of mine when he was shot by the man he was tracking. The police returned fire & killed the idiot. All police, DPS, & county officers are wearing the black tape on their badges in honor of Pepper. It costs over $20,000 to train a good K9 officer on top of what it cost to buy him. His memorial service is this afternoon at a very large church where many officers attend. We lost the K9 officer our county seat had bought to cancer so now no county near us has a K9 officer as we need. RIP Pepper you will be greatly missed.
