  1. Song was my girl- Laura wanted her but I claimed her first. She was a kennel mate to Mahagony & came to me at the same time. She was my 11th senior to leave me this year.
  2. When I got home from feeding Laura's dogs I had a message from the vet that Song was doing terrible. I drove right down & was with her as she died without any shots. She was hemorrhaging thru out her body. I told her I love her but she could go be with Patches, Hombre, Ocala, & Jade & be pain free. This was the hardest good-buye I've had. Run free sweet Song & greet your buddies for me. Mom loves you.

    Abby

I'm sorry to see this, the HOF wll not be the same.
  4. Song is at the vets. Monday I took her in because she could use her left hind leg & when they took x-rays she started to bleed a little on the inside of the leg but it stopped when I put pressure on it. Yesterday her face suddenly looked like she had been bitten by a snake on one side & then she started bleeding on the same side. This morning she couldn't swallow so she's staying at the vets. to be checked out. Any god thoughts will be appreciated.
  5. Congratulations Darcy!! You look so good. Hugs to all in the Doyle household.
  6. Nancy, I'm sorry to see this since we ha BIG girl that has seizures too I know what you are going thru. Hugs to you & Red. Felicity
  7. We had a sweet foster boy that had a biospy done but we didn't do the ampas he had a bad case of heartworms. The cancer went raging done the leg after the biospy so I don't think I would do another one. God luck.
  8. She does look like Sprout!! Hugs to you & Shirley.
  9. He looks very much like my heartdog, Patches. I know Patch met him at the bridge & they are running together pain free. I'm sorry for your loss.
  10. Our Wal-Mart carries Beef & More canned with green tripe in it. I use this when dogs won't eat right. It does stink but they all love it. I mix 1/3 can in their regular meal & mo one has turned it down.
  11. I know how you feel but it is a great gift you are giving him. Run free Diplomat & send your humans a sign. Hugs to you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Run free sweet boy.
  13. More hugs to all of you. Emmy will adapt with the help from the other dogs. Poor Jade had terrible vision problems but could get around better than some seeing dogs as she wasn't distracted by things outside the fence.
  14. My Bright Jade is now at the bridge with Ocala, Patches & all the other super seniors. She had taken several bad falls outside thepast week & yesterday evening she fell trying to get on the deck step to come inside but couldn't make it without help then after she came in she colasped in my bedroom. When I tried to help her up she started crying which made several others come running. I got her into a large crate where she sayed in 1 position all night. She'd started not eating & just looked at me like "Mom, please it's time" so as soon as the vet's office opened I took her in & the vet was kind enough to come out to my van so we didn't have to try to carry her in past other clients. Run free sweet Jade & find all your housemates that have gone before you, everyone here misses you.
  15. Judy, I just saw this and of course many prayers are headed your way for everyone.
  16. Glad to see he's improving. Hope he keeps it up.
  17. Lynn, you can ask for prayers, good thoughts whatever any time. They do help & you're right that getting old is the pits no matter what type of creature you are. Give the old man a hug & share the cool air with him.
  18. I'm very sorry for your double loss and I do know how you must feel. We too have a wonderful vet. She always cries & tells each dog she's sorry for having to send them to the bridge. Her techs are very good also. It certainly helps at this terrible time as I remember when my DD had to decide it was time for a very injured dog to go the office manager asked her how she was going to pay, I got mad & so did other people in the waiting area.
  19. Pam, you know you can call me anytime you want to talk! Here's hoping Poodle is going to be fine.
  20. Thank ypu to everyone for ypur kind thoughts. Poor Traveler is having a hard time & keeps looking at me like I did something wrong. He has now taken to sleeping in my room at night since Ocala isn't in the living room. Poor boy I know how he feels.

    Krier

Carla, I remember when you ;ost your others, just know Ocala was there to meet him. I'm sorry for your loss. Run free Krier.
  22. I got this sweet old lady in Abilene, Ks five years ago. She had a good racing life & tried motherhood twice so that her last son Stylin Traveler could come to TX to be with her. Ocala ruled the farms she lived on and then decided to teach me about how to age gracefully. She actually loved the snow when we got some here & would try to romp like a young dog. She had LS and did very well for a long time but the past week was too hard for her & if she had an accident in her bed or the house she was so embarrased, last night was very uncomfortable for her & she wouldn't eat any breakfast, couldn't get a drink so I said I'd help her leave as best I could. All the others here sent her off with loud crys & barks & are not happy now. I've made this triip 9 times this year & gets harder each time. This is Ocala & Traveler. Good-bye sweetheart run free & meet all your friend that have gone before. My heart is breaking here.
  23. You are right Pam, Queenie & hollister her brother came from McKinney ASPCA. I think you were the one who told Laura we had to get them since Hollister is my last name! As far as we know Hollister is still alive, but he hadn't had the terrible fights she had. Just to clarify Queenie stayed at Laura's house not mine & loved the big yard & watching the cows, she would have been bored at my house.
  24. Queenie was a tiny, tiny brindle girl that had had a very hard life but just kept going until her body just said "No More!!" She was as small as the 9 month old puppy at Laura's house and as sweet as could be. Before GPA North Texas adopted her from the SPCA she'd been in a terrible fight that nearly took her life. Queenie & her equally small brother were turned in as being not cat safe-wrong they both liked kitties & never hurt one. When Laura called to say this was it I went up & wrapped her in a quilt as the wind was chilly & let her stay outside for a few minutes as all the other dogs said good bye & then put her in the van for the last ride. She was gone the minute the vet started the shot into her leg so it was peaceful at least she just turned 13 today. Runn free sweet Queenie, we love you , now you can enjoy the warm sunshie & gentle breezes
