  1. The good news is that Noel is still gaining about a pound every 2 weeks & her blood sugar was 175. It looks like maybe she's stabilized for a while, thank goodness!! Hoover weighed in at 28.8lbs which is good for aprox 15 weeks old. His leg problemis that one of the growth plates has stopped growing while the other bone is growing normally. The vet said it looks like he has a problem with the other ankle also. Now to figure out what to do for him. He got his rabies shot like a trooper, never fussed at all, just wagged his tail at the vet.
  2. Well, we're glad she's ok. She is so sweet & funny. Maybe with nice clean teeth she'll want to see herself in a mirror!!
  3. Glad Sheana is better. We've had snake bites here so I know how swollen she looked and how she feels. Get well wishes for both girls.
  4. Noel's first seizure was very violent. Several dogs were sleeping in the bedroom while I was one the computer when she screamed & did 2 total back flips, one into the wall & the other into the clothes chest. Her eyes were huge & for her safety I wrapped her in a large towel & carried her outside away from the high prey dogs. Speckie was with me when Lucky had seizures so she came outside & watched closely. Noel had another violent seizure so I wrapped he in the towel after I called the vet. When I got to the office she had a petite seizure. The vet quickly gave her some Nutri-cal to help bring her out. She has had 2 more sets one of which was worse than the firdt & it took a long time to come back to normal. Noel is diabetic so I have to watch her closely. It is terrible to watch but just remember to stay calm, hard to do I know, & make sure Oscar doesn't hurt himself. If you have other pets keep them away from him when this happens some go into attack mode or he may attack them. I hope the vet can help.
  5. He also needs the extra hair cleaned out if his ears like poodles do. Flop eared dogs get yeast infections very easily as the air can't circulate. Good luck, he'll feel better after a bath & some TLC.
  6. So glad she is doing better. You should know "Princesses" need special treats all the time- Ebony said to tell you this & is sending her good thoughts along with mine.
  7. Be sure to take lots of pictures of your sweet girl. My DD lost a girl to OS & Emma let her know when it was time so she went with dignity. Tell her you love her & that it's ok for her to go run free, even thu your heart is breaking at the end. Hugs to you.
  8. Gald to see that your girl is fine. This why we print out Dr. Stacks pages from greythealth.com & give them to our adopters in their handbook so if their vet is up to spead on greys they can show them what a grey savy knows is correct.
  9. My Miss E is also 12-1/2 & she has dreams like this almost every evening. As Exceptional is a large girl (80 # ) all my other dogs have learned to stay away from her legs when she's asleep as the kicks hurt! At first I too thought seisures but like you said she can be woken with THAT look & it's nothing like Noel's grand Mals or my Lucky's petite mals were. Glad she's doing so much better-these old dames are so precious!!
  10. Good for Sprout!! Hope this sloves his problem so he's able to give GT some more entetianing pictures. Hugs to all at the Wallace house.
  11. Extreme says to tell Dusty it's no big deal & the foot will feel so much better afterwards. Extreme had a toe amputated up tp the first joint and after it healed he doesn't even notice it's going. We'll be thinking good thoughts foryou tomorrow.
  12. So glad to see Mia is getting better. We have fingers & paws crossed for all of you. Noel said to tell Mia "you can do it-if I can get better a girl like you surely can too!"
  13. I'm sorry to see this. Hugs to both you and Amber.
  14. Way to go Cody!! Hope he stays well now you've had enough problems.
  15. Hugs & good wishes to the Fruitbat. She looks regal in her pink pearls. Always love to see her pictures.
  16. I have a foster here that lost the second toe on his left hind foot. After it healed he never notices that it is gone plus he feels better since his was caused by a shattered toe with the bone splinter pushing into his pad. Good luck.
  17. My group has a foster like this he now eats Solid Gold wix frozen Bil-Jac mixed in and is doing much better. If he gets stressed at all the D comes back. We also went thru the meds & all types of foods before finding this comb worked the best. Good luck
  18. Good news for all of you. Sprout looks like a real sweetheart.
  19. Noel says get well Bear there is lots o fun things to do!! It's no fun when they are sick
  20. Speck is my Aussie girl who has a heart tag that says Mom to all greys as she bathes & cleans ears of all the greys in the house. I got her as a 3 month old pup when I had my Sheltie/Spitz. Lucky had seizures so when Noel started to have them Speckie knew what was happening. Sunday night I did not hear Noel have one but Speckie did & started barking to wake me up, by the time I got the greys outside that were up & went to Noel's crate I really thought she was dead, her head was twisted back in a strange position & she was releasing her bowls. I grabed a new tube of Nutri-cal & lifted this terribly limp body out of the crate & forced the entire tube of stuff down Noel. She didn't really respond except to swallow as I pushed the stuff into her so I got the jar of honey & a teaspoon & took her into the bathroom so I could let the others back in to go back to bed. I sat the holing her & she would open her eyes a little but that was all so I gave her 2 tsp of the honey & told her I loved her & that there were so manypuppy things she still hasn't done that I want her to if she would just come back to me. It took from 1:30 to 4:00 for her come around. So she spent yesterday afternoon at the vets office where they gave her glucous & kept checking her blood levels. She's home and acting puppish but not a complete landshark yet. She had gone from 24.8 to 26.3 in 2 weeks so she's growing. I keep telling Speckie she's such a good Mommie & I truly believe she understands because she's staying close to Noel & watching her.
  21. Looking for an update. Hope Jester is still healing nicely.
  22. Still thinking of all at the Wallace household. Please give Sprout another ear rub for me.
  23. I'm so sorry Joyce, just saw your post this AM sure hope Jester heals quickly. Hugs to you & the boys. Will keep the 3 of you in my thoughts.
  24. we got 2 boys returned last Sat. they both had exploding D-some straight blood some regular. I took them to the vet & she ran her trusty plastic probe in them & got nasty stuff to run tests on. They had hooks. She had me double dose both of them with their heartworm pills=we use Iverheart Max ( generic Interceptor) and it now works for hooks, round, & tapes. Both seem fine now. One is very clingy but the other is just a laid back boy.
