  1. I can't get Dr. Stack's site to open so I can print out parts for our new adopter booklets. Has anyone else tried recently? I need to to up 3 booklets & want to make a copy for my files also. I always show Greytheatlh so I'm not using Dr Stack's information as my own. Can someone help? Thanks, Felicity
  2. I didn't want to open this thread as I just was afraid of what you were going to write. My heart goes out to you, Marc & all the dogs.

    Hogan

Sue, I think Hogan stole everyone's heart. I've always loved your stories & pictures of him. I'm so sorry for you. Run free & happy Hogan.
  4. I have been boarding an adopters dog that had seizures that their vet was not treating & while we we in our vets she started to weave, like when you get up too fast & are a little dizzy, the vet said this is a type of seizure usually related to a heart problem. They ran several tests on Skye & it isn't her heart, she is now on phenobarb but still has small seizures at night sometimes so is going back to be checked again. Good luck with William.
  5. Hugs to both of you & Get Well wishes to Sheana.
  6. I know how you feel. Jade had bleeding problems with her spay also & our vet was afraid we'd lose her but thanks to prayers she made it.
  7. I'm so sorry to see this. A note to all-take lots of pictures. I didn't know Honey had her cancer & didn't get any good pictures of her, I always thought I'd have plenty of time & could wait until I'd mopped the florr & the beds were extra clean. Give ear rubs to your baby for me.
  8. Your girl is so beautiful. When I got my first boy he looked very much like her & since he also had a terrible case of giardia plus other intestinal problems it took a long time to get him straightened out. I agree with no puppy food, just use a good adult food as puppy food makes the long bones grow too fast. The "Little Woment" girls are eating the same food as our adults & are doing just fine on it. Welcome to GT.
  9. It could just be that your water doesn't taste right to him. We used to do a M&G at a store in Ft Worth that had terrible tasting water & none of the dogs would drink it. One dog would always hit the bowl with his paw until it spilled. Also my DD lives on a ranch so her dogs are used to well water & don't care for city water because it's so different.
  10. I've used Boost for the dogs with problems or ones that have come yo us in very bad condition. They all seemed to enjoy the strawberry flavored the best. I know from when my Mother had to have this added to her meals that Boost tastes better than Ensure but they are both the same at adding nutrients. Good luck. I also use canned food for my Aussie that has the same type of problems she can eat it & then have some kibble to chew as a treat afterwards. Good luck.
  11. Just saw this. Sending get well wishes to Tootsie & hugs to you.
  12. The vet said to do Noel's shot quickly & then I rub in a circular motion afterwards, the a Teddy Graham (oatmeal) afterwards. She onlycried the first couple of times. Now I can give them to her when she's asleep. You get used to it but don't act afraid or the dog will pick up on it. I change the shot spot around so she doesn't always get poked in the same place. Good luck & I hope your baby feels better soon.
  13. I'm so sorry for your loss. Run free Maddie. Hugs to you & Hugo.
  14. I just took in a return last week that the girl said had bad kidneys, couldn't walk more than a block, had breaks in the hocks all at 3 yrs old. I asked her if the vet she'd used knew the difference between greys & other dogs for her blood levels ets. She said oh yest he's greally great. I had our vet's office get all of Iruska's records & she doesn't have any of these problems. She is a normal pup and really likes regular food & play time. I've given our vet all the info from Dr Stack's website so all the techs know the differences as well as the vet herself. Sure makes us feel more comfortable.
  15. Well, Pepper is now sporting bright pink stitches on his nose. We wont get the path report back until next week but he was in good spirits when I picked him up. I don't think he even knows anything was done to him-silly boy.
  16. Pepper whimpered all the way to the vets but I know they will take good care of him. He is such a goof!! He'll come home tomorrow. Laura said the dogs at her house were crying when I took him out-they wanted to go too!!
  17. If his foster family has other dogs it is safest to crate him any time they are gone & at night. I have 2 seizure fosters now & this is what I do. Some dogs will attack a dog that is seizing while others wont so it's just safer to crate. Noel's seizures are related to her being a diabetic so I keep honey & Nutri-cal on hand to bring her out quickly, the other girl is 6 & we had to increase her dose just recently but she's doing fine now. It is hard to watch but these dogs are still very loving & I won't give up on them. I had a Sheltie/Spitz for 20+ years that had seizures but hers were never as violent as these 2 girls.
  18. I bet Honey met him as he crossed the bridge. I feel your pain.
  19. I have 3 here that are VERY allergic to Ragweed. 2 of these poor itchy dogs have lost most their hair from itching.
  20. Pepper had his vet visit today & he has VD of the nose!! Of course the vet used the real medical term for it & said it is common for male strays to pick this up. He goes in next Tues. to have the growth removed & a biopsy done. It is growing very quickly & looks terrible so I told him to keep his nose to himself. He has gained about 15 lbs since we picked him up but his skin still looks so sore & his fur is very dry.
  21. Miss E & I visited them this AM and they are both doing much better. Wishes can stand normally & they say she was walking better this morning but she get the big D from her meds so must stay tonight as they cut her does back & want to be sure she's ok. Concerto was much better, stood up when she saw me, tail wagging but since she didn't keep breakfast down she has to stay agin too. I told her if she'd just keep her food down she could come home. Poor Wishes has been barking a lot so she is really rough sounding but at least her eyes are beginning to sparkle again.
  22. Honey went to the bridge this morning with her friend Miss E standing next to her. She became paralyzed in the rear legs on Sat. & this morning the vet found a mass in her abdomen. She was in pain & so we let the most perfect girl go. Honey came to me 5 years ago as an wanted return but I couldn't have asked for a better behaved dog. I used to call her my "Most perfect girl" & she'd get excited and chatter her teeth as me. I told her to run free & she'd find my Lucky waiting for her at the bridge.
  23. Good boy Saint!!! Skye is still in the dose adjustment stage for her meds but is doing better- may she get to that 3 year mark too. Give that big boy a hug from me.
