Sallie, my black girl, had the thickest, softest, shinnest coat. Note I said "had" She has been shedding up a storm in the last few weeks, I could knit another dog from the hair she's shed. Very flaky too, I think that shows more on the black ones . Brush, brush, brush! Also the fish oil (start small), and maybe add a raw egg to her food once a week.

So glad to hear Katie is doing well!

My Molly is a whiner. She whines when she wants me to hurry up with what I'm doing so we can go for our walk. She whines when she wants me to get up in the morning. Sometimes she whines for no apparent reason I try to tell her that whining is neither useful nor productive, but she doesn't seem to believe me. One interesting thing, she has hurt herself a few times (ripped dewclaw twice, broken toe once) and never whined once! I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell a "serious" whine from an annoying one, but it doesn't seem like that's a problem. I hope Tahoe just wants attention

I think if it were me, I'd give the new meds a few days, to see what they can do. I have had a cat that showed no signs of being ready to go, even when his kidneys had completely failed, and a dog that told me clearly that she was done, and ready to leave. It is just so hard

hoping Dusty can come back from this!

all of mine have passed at the vets, except one cat who died on her own at home. If I have the option in the future, I'd like for it to happen at home, but do check with your vet ahead of time about the arrangements for dealing with the remains. I know you can be strong for him, and if you fall apart after he's gone, well, that's ok. It is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do.
