  1. It's sort of mesmerizing to watch them all. He'll be tired later from being upright so long!
  2. A lovely tribute to a special, oh-so-handsome boy. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest well, Heisman.
  3. Maybe spring allergies? Not sure where you're located, but everything here is blooming and it's equal parts beautiful and miserable. Hope they feel better soon!
  4. I agree with time plus Feliway. One of my cats, Olive, hid in a closet and vomited daily for a week when we first got Sweep. We didn't know if we'd be able to keep Sweep. Feliway plug-ins and catnip helped a lot. Olive still kept her distance for several weeks, but within a few months she was rolling around on the floor, belly exposed, just a few inches away from Sweep. You won't see them all cuddled up together at my house, but they do coexist peacefully.

  9. I break it up and usually have to hide it in something very stinky--like cat food. Peanut butter and cream cheese are not enough. Sweep is not a picky eater normally, but when it comes to pills and supplements she always turns up her nose!
  10. Using Bravecto successfully here in TN too. It's a huge pill and I have to get creative with disguising it, so I love that it's only once every three months. The mosquitos are too busy feasting on me to bother Sweep!
  11. Just ordered some of the maintenance gel from Amazon--thanks for the tip! Sweep gets glowing reviews on her teeth too despite irregular brushing and not having a dental since retirement, but her breath is often less than minty-fresh. I'm eager to try this.
  12. You know my vote is Grassmere! They'll definitely keep the girls for a few hours afterward. Even when Sweep's had to be mildly sedated for xrays there, they keep her a few hours to monitor her. Don't hesitate to call and chat with them first about your concerns; they are so knowledgeable and will help set your mind at ease (btw, I seem to remember Dr. Clark telling me recently they've never lost a grey during a dental). And if I can help in any way, let me know!
  13. Congratulations to you and Woody! He's a handsome boy.
  14. Good update. for your sweet boy. Wishing you lots more time together.
  15. I second the Zuke's--they're the perfect size for training and don't get too messy if you have them in your pocket during walks.
  16. I have no reason to think they're not great products but Sweep does not like the taste of them at all. I had her on Joint Health and Fresh Factors and even when I broke them up into her food she'd spit out tiny pieces. We switched to Osteo-Pet Total Joint Care, which is bacon and cheese flavored and apparently more palatable for the diva (though I still have to crumble it over her food). I'm using the supplements mostly as a preventative so can't say I've seen any radical results, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either product. Springtime does have good sales and ships quickly, so no complaints at all about their service.
  17. Oh no! Did she slip in it?! I bet that was a story the doctors hadn't heard before.
  18. Better traction. I have been known to pick up a horking cat mid-hork to move him/her to a hard floor. Doesn't work so well with greyhounds, alas.
  19. We've had Sweep for three years and she's still this way with many (non-greyhound) dogs we see on our walks. We've had some success with "watch me/look at me" training and carrying treats with us on walks. The trick is to distract them before they cross their tolerance threshold into lunging/barking. Often it's easier to just avoid other dogs altogether, so we will change course if we see one up ahead. That reduces anxiety for both hound and human.
