  1. I think tomorrow would be fine as long as they've cleaned and wrapped it. Gigi did something similar a few months ago and all our vet did was clean it out, put her on antibiotics for a week, and told us to watch her to make sure she didn't lick on it to much so it would heal. They didn't even wrap it up or anything and she was fine.
  2. I agree! My lab has had severe food allergies and would go a few months before getting sick on every food we tried. After having him on Science Diet's allergy food (gross...science diet is junk, but the only thing that wouldn't make him sick) for 6 months I just couldn't stand to feed him that junk anymore and went on the hunt for a good quality food for him. His coat had got so dull and coarse. I finally found Acana Pacifica and it has been a godsend! It is pricey, but you feed way less. He is 80 pounds and eats 2 cups a day (1 in the morning and 1 at night). He has been on it for over a year with no problems!
  3. I would be careful with diamond naturals. That's what I was feeding mine, but last year they had all those recalls and it seemed like everyday they were adding more and more of the serial numbers to it. I finally got too scared to feed it to mine anymore after a friend's dog who was eating it got sick. I started them on earthborn, which is made in indiana, and Acana. It works well for mine
  4. I'm so sorry for you loss, I was also hoping that Bella would pull through. God speed sweet girl.
  5. Oh no I'm so sorry to hear this! Sending positive thoughts and preachers your way!
  6. Yea, my first reaction to reading this was- when' s her vet appointment. Something is definitely wrong and she needs to be seen by a vet ASAP.
  7. Oh My, that is so well written. You do capture everything, I'm sitting at work crying my eyes out. Now, I just want to go home and hug my babies.....
  8. Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures! Since you only just got her yesterday I'd say she's just still nervous and unsure of her new surroundings. Many of the fosters I've had have done that the first couple days after they arrived. I'm sure once she settles in and realizes this is her new amazing life she will calm down and relax.
  9. Gig just had a dental in July when we got her. I do brush their teeth as best I can once a week with a toothpaste I got from the vet. Maybe it is a coincidence, but her breath never smelled until we started the biotene. I only started using it because of people talking about it on here and I thought it might help when I can't get their teeth good with the brushing. Edit: they also get antlers to chew on every night!
  10. So I tried the v- biotene additive and have been using it for about 3 weeks now. I think it is actually making my dogs' breath smell worse. Has anyone had similar results?
  11. That's Greyt news! Best Christmas present this year!!
  12. Oh Judy, I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm new here, but I really feel like I knew Jilly from all your stories. You know she is already bossing your pack up there and probably the rest of the greys too!
  13. Gigi does something similar to this to greet me in the morning or when I come home. She jumps on the bed or couch and licks/nips (she bites, but makes sure her teeth are just pressed up against my face, not actually biting anything, if that makes sense) my face and neck. She loves it and since she does not make contact I let her do it.
  14. I agree in Kentucky there are several backyard greyhound breeders and our group gets its fair share of mixes/ untattooed GH's coming in!

  19. I crush up the pills and mix them in with a spoonful of wet food. They eat it no problem! I tried peanut butter and the little turds licked it off and left the pills!
