  1. I'm still feeding it and all are still doing great! No gas, solid poos, and shiny coats. The only add-ins I do are coconut oil and Olewo carrots once a day. The price is great for the quality. The closest place to me is about 30 minutes away too, but what I do is buy a months supply each time I go to make it worth it.
  2. It was recommended to me by someone who lure courses their retired greys. It has made a huge difference in my boy who is 9 and starting to have some hind-end weakness and my lab mix who has arthritis his left rear leg.
  3. I use Next Level for mine. It's liquid and for horses and dogs. It works great and very cost effective.
  4. Sorry for you loss Jan. I'm glad that I got to meet Peace at the festival in Louisville. She was a very sweet girl!
  5. I ordered the 5 pound bag and feeding all 5 dogs 2 tbs. a day it has lasted just over a month. I ordered the 11 pound bag this time because it's more cost effective and I know it works now!
  6. I ordered them off their website https://www.olewousa.com
  7. I thought I would share a product that I recently discovered. My boy Badger has always had loose stool no matter what food we feed him. He's also had awful flaky skin regardless of any type of oil we've added to his food. Our vet was stumped and just told us to keep giving him the salmon oil and eventually it would kick in. He had super shiny black fur, but it was still flaky. We've had him for over a year and it's always been like this. So, I started him and our others on Victor brand dog food, after Acana was getting too expensive with 5 dogs. I also added a tsp. of coconut oil and his coat finally started getting a little better, but his poops were still too loose for my liking. I wasn't quite ready to cave in and try Iams like people on here always suggest. (I had an awful experience feeding it years ago with my lab and I just can't do it!) Anyways I found Olewo Carrots while searching online and after feeding them for only a week so far he has had the BEST poops I've ever seen since he came home! He also has no flaky skin left at all!
  8. Welcome from Henryville, IN! He's a gorgeous boy!
  9. Try the Acana Pacifica or Ranchlands. No chicken in either and it's grain free. My guy who has lots of food allergies including chicken did amazing on it!
  10. yea, I would contact them as well. When my package didn't arrive in 5 days I emailed them and they overnighted me my order at no cost. Have you checked your tracking to see where it is?
  11. I bought the fortiflora from amazon for much cheaper then other places: http://www.amazon.com/Purina-Veterinary-Diets-Fortiflora-Sachets/dp/B001650NNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398867032&sr=8-1&keywords=fortiflora I had a lot of problems picking up the poop because of the awful diarrhea, that it was really hit or miss. I did spray the area with bleach/water mix afterward. My vet told me that hookworms are common (at least in Indiana) and people tend to make a bigger deal out of them then they really are most of the time. All of my dogs are on Trifexis, which protects them against the worms thankfully so they didn't catch them from the new guy! I've read all the horror stories about them in these forums and I was terrified, but luckily my experience has not been that bad at all. Hopefully your vet can figure out what is going on with him and get him fixed up! A bland diet and the fortiflora might calm his stomach down and let him heal up this time!
  12. When my guy had hook and whipworms I did two rounds of drontal plus about 3 weeks apart. Its more expensive that Panicur, but i like the pill form rather then the liquid for 3 days. Drontal is "one and done". I also added fortiflora to his food for that entire time until about a week after the last dose. His last fecal was negative so I'm hoping they stay gone!
  13. I used them for about 2 years before I recently switched to a food they don't carry. I usually received my shipments within 2-3 days after they were shipped. I had mine set up for auto ship. They also have the best customer service. I had an order that had gotten lost and after 5 days was not updating in the tracking. I was almost out of food and when I emailed them they overnighted my same order at no additional charge. When my original order show'd up a week later, they told me to just keep it as their apology. This was an $85 order! To me they are a wonderful company!
  14. Has anyone ever tried this? My vet seems to think it will help my lab mix who has a problem with his knee joint on his right rear leg.
  15. Oh no Jan, my heart dropped when's saw his name. I'm so sorry he is my favorite herein GT. Godspeed sweet boy.
  16. Thought I would give an update on this. I started my gang on the Yukon River 1 1/2 weeks ago. I did a quick transition with them over 4 days because they are used to their food being switched up and I've never had a problem doing a quick switch. After this short time all of their poos have been AMAZING and they have NO gas!!!!! Badger and Gus have always had horrible gas no matter what I did. I am beyond excited about this! It's the little things in life
  17. I recently got a flyer in the mail about this. I had never heard of it so I'm interested in what others have to say! It sounds a lot like trifexis. I wonder what the price is on this. We use Trifexis now and have never had a problem with it.
  18. I was really surprised that I found a vet in my area that carries it to $45 for 30lbs! I think we are going to try it out
  19. I know another new thread about dog food....... I saw this the other day and it looks like a good affordable food. Has anyone on here tried it before? I'm particularly interested in their Yukon River formula.
  20. My lab mix was on the z/d food (vet told us he had IBS/crones and recommended it) for awhile and every time we tried to switch him he would backslide again. I don't like science diet so I was constantly searching for a better quality food that wouldn't upset his tummy. I finally stumbled on Acana. Their grainfree regionals formula are great. He does well on either the Pacifica (salmon) or Ranchlands (beef) version. They are pricey, but a much better quality of food than science diet. His coat was shiny again in about 2 weeks. It had become very dry and brittle while he was on the z/d.
  21. When you give them the trifexis. Pill them with it. I do that with all of mine and have not had a problem. No they don't like it, but it's quick and painless.
  22. We recently moved and we put up a 6ft black vinyl covered chainlink fence for our greys. It doesn't look cheap or too much like a prison. Lol! Since it is black it blends in with the scenery and is a nicer alternative than the typical silver style. We have been told that it also has a higher resale value then the regular chainlink.
  23. A friend sent it to me today so I thought I would pass it along.
  24. I know a lot of people feed Iams here so check to make sure your food isn't on the list! http://theilovedogssite.com/urgent-2-major-dog-food-brands-issue-recall/
