  1. I love this pic Smiley, thank you for teaching Aiden the ropes. I may send him back from time-to-time for a refresher, as he is having a bit of trouble remembering KNOT to talk back to his elders Seamie and we just can KNOT have that. He is getting quite familiar with the lechter you sent Rocket's daddiman is right, your mom has been a little stingy with pics of you guys Misser Marc, a welcome song!! Thanks so much!!
  2. Special hugs to Smiley for sending his lechter along for Aiden. Thanks everyone. Spring has finally arrived Suzanne
  3. Welcome Cinco and Aiden. Formerly of St Louis Rescued Racers, now of CT Camp Greyhound. "Cinco" fka Ringo fka UCME Ringneck, will turn four in August. "Aiden" fka SE's Aiden T is celebrating birthday #4 today For his birthday, I gave him his forever couch . April is National Greyhound Adoption month, perhaps I've gone a bit overboard? Introductions with camp residents Seamie and Sorella went really well. Sorella is thanking me profusely for KNOT bringing in any more wimmin hounds, she is ok with the boys. Everyone slept through the night, had breakfast, and are resting up before baths later today. Cinco is incredibly smart, too smart, and I hope I can keep up with him. Aiden is different smart and the perfect balance to Cinco. He's a little goofy, but they are both full of love (kisses this morning) and I am encouraged that one or both will be excellent therapy dogs. Our floors are once again littered with stuffies and smiles and kisses from young'uns. Here they come!! Lisa rode shotgun with me to meet the hauler. Her DH was thrilled and relieved that there were only two greyhounds on board Two greyhounds, and thirdyateelebenty LWFs. Srsly. omg Elaine (of Dave and Elaine, Dog Runner Pet Transport http://www.dogrunnerpettransport.com/ ) is holding brindle Aiden, I have white-nosed Cinco. Cinco and I are both laffin Cinco: Hey, wate a minnit .... Aiden is a champion roacher. He lowers his front half down and nests and ruffles the bed and then HURLS his hind end down on his side, it's hard to describe and hard to believe while watching him do it. Cinco with Seamie I see how frail Seamie has become but good for him, at 12.10 he's still going. Seamie Notice the stuffy in the hallway My buddy this morning. First night I've slept well since 12/31/11. And, after breakfast. All is well. My heartfelt thanks to StLRR, who have been a delight to work with. Their organizers and foster peeps go above and beyond and made this so incredibly easy for me. Dog Runner transport was fabulous as well, keeping in contact with me before and throughout the haul and arriving to the minute of their ETA. These young'uns for me are like starting over again, in 2002 Pal was fresh off the track and 3.5 years old. My door remains open to seniors in need and I know that these young'uns will welcome them as well. So, let the new chapter begin.
  4. I am so sorry. Frisby will always think of you, too. Please take care of yourself. Godspeed handsome man.
  5. James is not alone, FortiFlora made Sorella's diarrhea worse, too. We use Flagyl and Tylan with excellent results.
  6. Like so many, I have been following your journey with Neko and hoping so very hard that he would be well. And now, like so many, I am sobbing for a dog I never met. And for you, his mom, who went above and beyond to try to do whatever was possible to heal her boy. I am so, very sorry, for your pain and your loss. Godspeed special boy
  7. Charlies_Dad has sage advice. I have none, only hugs and prayers for you and your sweet boy.
  8. Keeping you and your sweet girl in my thoughts and prayers. Deb, your latest update sounds very encouraging.
  9. I loved you enough to let you go from this world but not from my heart. My heart just breaks for you. You loved your boy with every fiber of your being. And he knew it. No one could ask for more. Godspeed Plummer
  10. I'm so sorry. I've been following Plummer's thread, as his symptoms sounded all too familiar. You are the best dog mom and I am sending you as much cyberstrength as is possible. Enjoy every single minute with your sweet boy.
  11. Lucy What a beautiful, big tribute to your little man. No regrets, only love as you remember how much you enriched each others' lives. What a terrific little guy. Godspeed Jabari
  12. What an absolutely beautiful and articulate tribute to your friend. I am so sorry for your loss.
  13. M, my heart breaks with yours at the sudden loss of your most beautiful Tasha. I never knew her when she was still wearing her brown spotted cap, she's always been the almost totally white girl with the huge, deep, pool eyes. It feels as tho I've lost one of my own. I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Tasha knew how much she was loved and she will live on in your heart, she will always be with you. Godspeed special girl, send your mom a sign that you arrived safely.
  14. My heart goes out to you on the sudden loss of your beautiful friend. I'm so sorry. Godspeed Millie.
  15. I, too, am just seeing this, Kyle, and adding my prayers.
  16. {Plummer} So many good suggestions here. Adding canned puppy food also works for my seniors when they get a bit thin.
  17. Better to cook and freezer than to panic and not have it on hand when needed. <--- This. Thanks everyone for all the excellent tips!! I packaged cooked rice and chicken separately in ziploc baggies, froze them flat, and they keep, and thaw, really well. I add just a touch of water or chicken broth as they defrost in the microwave. Perfect.
